49 is way too young - 3 young kids without a dad. Very sad.

After all they've gone through in the last few years, to lose him when things were finally on the up must be even more devastating for Orient fans. Obviously pales in significance to the wider sadness. What a shame.

Terrible, terrible news. I've always thought what a great talent he was and that the best is yet to come from him. My condolences to his family on their loss.

Am I correct in thinking he was close to the STFC job once?

RIP Am I correct in thinking he was close to the STFC job once? I’m pretty sure I heard somewhere once that he was interviewed and close to getting the job in 2014 but Matt Williams persuaded RW to appoint Micky Mellon instead. Either way JE went on to serve a few clubs well in his managerial career and two promotions out of the National League (which is a notoriously hard league to get out of as our friends at Wrexham will know) in five years is a great achievement, RIP Justin.

Obviously we don't know what contributed to his heart attack but a lot of football managers appear to have had heart problems over the years. It can obviously be a very stressful job and when you watch some managers on the touchline during games a lot of them really do get themselves in a state and kick every ball. With their jobs on the line and families to support especially the lower league managers its really no surprise that the job carries health risks. Very very sad news for the game and obviously for his family. RIP.
