Decent match tonight - Portugal 3-1 winners against Switzerland putting them into the final on Sunday. Very even game until the last 5 mins when the Ronaldo show came alive. Players and Fans were very up for it, helps with Portugal hosting of course, but a good competitive game nonetheless.
England v Netherlands tomorrow night to decide the second finalist.

caught the last few minutes and saw 2 goals the last was a typical Ronaldo goal even I wouldn't have let him cut back inside, very poor defending that
holland will be tough as they seem to be playing total football again whatever that is lol

Still surprised by the decision - I thought the Swiss striker tripped himself up but ref must have seen contact before that.

That makes sense now No volume but I did catch them reviewing a replay, next thing I saw a penalty and was a bit confused thinking I was sure the handball was the other way but ruled it out as me seeing things

Is that the first time a decision like that has been given by VAR?

Basic mistakes. England miss a sitter to go 2-0 up. Walker outpowered for their equaliser, though if someone was on the post they could have stopped it. Then Stones makes a horrible mess for their 2nd. Didn't see the last goal. Saying that though Lingard was about 2cms offside for a goal that probably would have won it.

Apparently another Stones mistake for the 3rd too although not seen any of it.

It’s a bloody disgrace that the national team playing the national sport isn’t on free to air terrestrial TV!

Here they are drawing lines across the pitch so that players can be off side by 2cms - pathetic . Obviously they can pinpoint the absolutely precise moment when the final pass was made ? When boot made contact with ball- yeah, right . I really think with margins as tight as this common sense flies out of the window.

Well I suppose we'll say that we were tired, long season, winter pause blah blah blah. As that defending... As with VAR, I think it did OK yesterday. No complaints from me (as first impressions were they were off). And not sure looking to change the rules to daylight between the attacker and defender will work any better, we'll still have tight decisions won't we (as to whether there was or not)? It'll always to debatable, it can always be fine lines, just what you'll be looking to measure may differ or?

Haven't we anyone available who is better than Stones? I'm free on Sunday. Can't do much worse and I'm probably £100k cheaper a week too.

Call me a traditionalist but I can’t get excited about this competition. I know it’s better than friendlies but it just feels weird.

Kinda asking your mates how we should be looking at this, what do we do if we win it type thing, are we supposed to get excited about it etc. All a bit awkward. Not sure how to take it to be honest... Still, at least we don't need to worry about that sort of thing for a bit now anyhow...

Where the hell did it spring up from? Where are all the “big” countries like Germany, France, Italy, Spain etc? I guess I’ve missed some big announcement about it and why it is needed (no doubt to do with money these days, call me synical ...). But I don’t really take a huge interest in international football these days anyway.

Mind you I feel the same when everyone goes absolutely bat sh!t crazy celebrating a goal to put us 1-0 up against Tunisia in a World Cup game!! Calm down. It’s Tunisia. In a group game. 😂😂 Bah humbug.

Who did we beat in the group stages? As I say I don’t take a lot of notice of international football, I guess I’ve just missed it all.

As I say I don’t take a lot of notice of international football, I guess I’ve just missed it all. England played Spain and Croatia. You may not take a lot of notice of international football but may I recommend you take an interest in Google - it’s been found to be quite useful at answering questions one may have.
