www.the-ra.org/news/ifab-law-changes-2019-2020I'm not sure if these changes have been posted on here in the past? I was aware of the change around substitutions but there are some new ones on me, particularly those around the drop ball law and the goalkeeper during penalty kicks.

The players not being in the opposition wall will sort a few things. However the grabbing hold of players in open play when waiting to receive an incoming ball will still bug me.

This seems an appropriate time to remind people about these changes ahead of the season.

So Law 8 "Lick Off", has now gone back to what it always was (until the recent change)
i.e Win the toss and choose either to have kick off, or choose which goal to attack
Brilliant!!

I see that the highly paid professionals in the Charity Shield yesterday were not aware of the law change regarding the ball hitting the ref.
In what other walk of life can you work in ignorance of the rules governing your profession?

Whilst not technically 'time-wasting', defenders being allowed to touch the ball in the penalty area on goal kicks will lead to tight games shutting down as a spectacle, surely? We saw some of this in the Community Shield.
