Set to be appointed at Scunny. You’d back them for promotion next year with him at the helm. Will make him even popular with the Grimsby fans!

Great appointment, if wasn't for Caldwells ego he'd be back here.

Has never got a team promoted from league two. Has excercised all his former player contacts already. I can see him struggling.

Darrell Clarke is an honourable likeable chap. Not a perfect fit with Chairman Bonser but can see them doing well next season. In respect of Hurst just wonder if there are any town players or backroom staff he may fancy taking with him. Its a good appointment by Sc***horpe and he should do ok but he will have to have a clear out as most of the players have been trained by the Royal Shakespear company.

I'd certainly be prepared to negotiate with him with regard to Beckles. Bolton might be prepared to move, though hopefully not. Only PH seems to know why he signed Sam Jones and then gave him a two and a half year contract, so perhaps he'd like to sign him again.

I don’t think the club will ask you to negotiate on their behalf somehow. Although you might make less contract gaffes than certain unnamed individuals there.

Glad when he does sign for someone and put to bed the biggest love in with a manager who won nothing and turned his back on the club and its supporters at a very important time.

Stefan Payne to Walsall possibly? Clarke did at least play Payne prior to his sacking, so hope springs eternal.

Well as we and Grimsby will tell them - be careful what you wish for - success and he’ll be off.
Of course he may well, like MM, be realising that league two is his comfort level.

Hurst has to rebuild his reputation after Ipswich and he will have a point to prove, how much of a budget does he have will be a factor but you can expect a fit, well organised team who will be hard to beat.
i dont hold any malice to him but i dont feel any warmth eithr ,he is the past.

The way Hurst left is open to debate having heard different versions of events. The way Brian portrayed it doesn't match what i've heard from various sources.

Indeed my sawces are telling me cores are most definitely rotten and that Graham Carey would be a hardly inspiring signing.

While Ipswich was an unmitigated disaster, I’m quite surprised he’s had to drop down to L2 – thought there’d be plenty of bottom half L1 takers for his services. Sc***horpe haven’t hung around in L2 for long in their previous stints there, and they’ll surely have one of the bigger budgets in there. Not shy about sacking managers either, so the pressure will be on.
Quite relieved he’s taken another job.

I agree with a lot of your points on this board, but are you saying you wouldn't leave a current employer to move upwards and likely earn more than double? Come on, it wasn't ideal, he snaked in for two players last minute yes, but i can't hold it against him too much especially after hearing it was just a days notice and they knew "well" in advance of the final.
