They won five of those, and the one that they lost was in a sudden death penalty shootout'. The manager of the rival Drake youth boys' team Martin Shaw congratulated the girls. He said: 'We were the best two teams in the league but from my perspective the girls were worthy champions."

Humble pie? Although speaking of which, women's World Cup for us to enjoy this June and July. England v Scotland to really get the ball rolling...

England v Scotland to really get the ball rolling... i cant imagine that a bunch of 12 years old boys enjoy seeing an all girls team virtually win everything in the boys league. yes i really enjoy women football .

Humble pie? Although speaking of which, women's World Cup for us to enjoy this June and July. England v Scotland to really get the ball rolling... i cant imagine that a bunch of 12 years old boys enjoy seeing an all girls team virtually win everything in the boys league. I suspect the majority just get on with it and enjoy their football. And I'd fancy those that are inclined to think as you suggest would be unhappy with anyone winning everything in their league; unless it was them. I like to give kids a little more credit than that...

I like to give kids a little more credit than that... fair enough, i suppose it struck a cord with me as i grew up in a small village we could only make a team if the girls played ,they were miles better than us and as we started beating everyone, they found some loophole to get us kicked out. but things have moved on so i was pleased they could play and the opponents manager was very gracious and sporting in defeat
