So tomorrow we bring the curtain down on an eventful season. We can of course relax and enjoy the game after securing our League One status last week.
The Supporters Parliament would like to remind all supporters though, that whilst celebrating we should keep our emotions under control, keep the good name of Shrewsbury Town Football Club intact, so staying off the pitch, for example, will help the club avoid another potential fine and will also mean that Sam, his staff and the players can return onto the pitch to join us in our end of season celebrations.
We hope all Supporters have a great day and enjoy the game and here’s to 3 points to finish off the season in style.

It might be an idea to have a word with Sam to get them back out quickly. Last season it took about 20 minutes by which time most people had gone home.

Have i missed something, staying up by possibly a point in the third division is hardly a cause for celebration in my book.

There is absolutory nothing to celebrate.

Celebrations? What celebrations? It's been an awful season. Couldn't care less if they come back onto the field after the match or not.

I often get the impression that some would have been happier to see Town go down. A few of you would probably celebrated then! Miserable f***s!

Do despair sometimes. I give Ricketts 15 minutes into next season before some of our so called supporters are calling for him to go unless we are 2-0 up.

11th in the form table last 6 games. Not that you’d know it from reading this forum
Full house tomorrow. Get behind them, and help send Walsall down!

Maybe some won’t want to celebrate but it would be an opportunity to send off those players who have done their best, and succeeded, in keeping us up who we won’t see again in a Shrews Shirt, I.e., Docherty and Campbell.
There’s also Mat Sadler who may, or may not, be with us next season.
It has been a difficult time but we have managed to come through it and that’s something to be glad about for sure.

World of difference between getting behind them for 90 minutes and then dodging the 'lap of honour' or whatever it is. It also has nothing to do with next season.
Frankly, this forum would be a much better place if people just let others follow the team how they see it fit, stop the snide little remarks about being so called supporters and stop calling people miserable sosos, because they recognise, that actually, there is nothing to 'celebrate'.

It seems to me that certain supporters need to realise who we are, we are a small club with high ambitions who are punching above our weight. In 40 odd years of supporting this wonderful club there have been more lows than highs, but by God those highs have been fantastic! Be patient and wait for the next high which will come along and will be glorious. I love Town and I don't like all the negativity on this board (or is that BORED!)

I always thought and believe that whether we finish first, last, or inbetween, then you should be proud of your club and give them the respect they deserve. Obviously some only want to give that respect if it follows success.

Don't worry, I'll clap them off the pitch at the final whistle. Then go to the pub.

I didn't realise that expecting a little more than survival in the final 2 weeks of the season in League 1 when your club spent 600k on transfer fees in the summer is... 'unreasonable'.
What's the point in going to matches if you're just content with survival every season?
I'm sure even RW isn't happy after the money he spent last summer.

That is that we got away with spending so little of the money we brought in and still survived....

Well that certainly puts things into perspective! How we are not qualifying for the champions league after that kind of outlay is beyond me!!

Celebrate is not the right word in the context of this season but I’ll happily applaud the lads for their efforts (some more deserving than others) & with huge relief that the mistakes of this season have not cost us our league 1 status
The SP statement is clearly aimed at trying to remind everyone of the implications for the club if the very real prospect of ‘trouble’ materialise.
I prefer to focus on the definite potential for a much better season next time out.....

Behave. 600k is quite a decent outlay at this level, we are definitely in the top half in terms of budget going into the season. Clubs like Rochdale, Wycombe, Accrington and Burton could only dream of spending so much and yet we're still struggling. Sarcasm just makes you look silly.

If we still had Askey, just surviving after the backing he had in the summer and the momentum from last season would have been a bad season. However, we haven't and the season started again when Ricketts came in.
When he came in we had an unbalanced squad who (thanks to Askey) were unfit. Imo Ricketts task when he got the job was to keep us up and then build on it next season.
He has achieved that goal for this seasom, so yes we have something to celebrate.

Also if these lads put the final nail in Walsall's relegation coffin then they deserve a standing ovation for that alone!

Think you are right that the focus of the Supporters Parliament statement is on the potential for fans entering the pitch and the implications it has for the club. Following the club getting fined for a fan running on the pitch earlier in the season, and the added tinder sticks of playing Walsall in a match that could see them relegated - there is the potential for some difficult scenes for the club today. Know its become a bit of a tradition to go on the pitch for the last home game of the season but given the circumstances of today's game probably best for fans to stay in the stands - even an innocent incursion onto the pitch might be dealt with quite harshly.

we wont the club spending money on new players for next year not paying fines to the FA, as we have already been fined i would imagine they will not look kindly on us if something happens.
