I think he is on about the results Coyne produced 100% away defeats in the league 1 win against a league 2 reserve side 1 win against a non league side and yes 4 wins at home quite impressive turn around but they were against Sc***horpe , walsall , Plymouth, and rochdale I actually think askey may have done similar had he been given the chance to stay buy oh no, the fans wanted him gone im not knocking Coyne, I'd have been happy for him to hang on until the end of the season but come on , that argument is scr@ping the barrel to claim he inherited a winning side pathetic really Interesting about WHO Coyne got wins against... In the last 10 games (more than Coyne had in the league) We have only beaten three teams..... These were Wycombe (18th), Southend (20th) and Gillingham (15th) Hardly the cavalcade of big teams beaten by Ricketts in the last 10 either... thats true and if we are to believe the shambles during the summer and fitness problems then the fact we are still in league 1 should be more than we deserved really of course rickets will be judged next season, and it seems hes already got no chance with many but we need to give him that opportunity and support him at least anyone who thinks that changing him NOW is the best thing for the club needs to get real if we have to change him at all next season will be a blow, changing him now would be crazy

Hes not going anywhere. But there is a huge risk for a lot of "I told you so" if 10 games in we are still as crap as we have been during this spell hes had (had longer than Hurst in his first spell when saving us)
Hovering around ONE point per game next season at the start will be trouble from the off and we will be changing mangers again... you can see it happening.
I guess its no greater risk than the club changing in the summer and a new guy coming in, but i'm not convinced which way next season will go based on everything I have seen under Ricketts so far. Its wrong to predict failure, but its also naive to say it will definitely all be fine now.... no way anything we have done under him so far points to that...
He needs A good summer, he needs to do what he told us about fitness and team togetherness and he needs to hit the ground running and get some luck.
My judgement is held until 10 games into next season... lets see where the win is blowing then

For those that park at Percy throwers despite the garden centre closing at 6 they are honouring the match day parking tho there will only be limited spaces so if you haven't got a season pass get there early. Even if you've got a season permit, get there early because all spaces were taken an hour before kick off last match and permit holders were sent to the main meadow car park but there was only limited space and some had to be sent to the park and ride.

Either way, I'm not suggesting that we should get rid of him, just (accurately in my view) that a disappointing performance against Walsall on the weekend will be a major misstep and will have an impact on his fortunes going forward.

I would imagine that whatever the result on Saturday is, which in effect is a cup final for walsall only, it will be forgotten quickly as it has very little bearing given the circumstances for Salop (apart from putting one over on a rival). So suggesting it will have any bearing on staff retention is highly unlikely.

todays Star not surprisingly Norburn ruled out for Walsall which is the sensible thing to do.

Ricketts kept us up so i would be amazed if he was sacked now, i dont think he would have been sacked even if we had got relegated as he would possibly say ; the squad were not fit ,he was unable to bring in the kind of players he would have liked in January and blame the squad on Askeys choices.( by the way Askey desrvers some credit on keeping port vale up)
i am not a fan of Ricketts but he desrvers a chance, it will be his team ,his pre season fitness program, he has talked about moulding a team to play a style of football he wont's to see, so 12 games in i will express my opinion of him and his team then.

All league 1 Ko 5.30 pm. Guess it's TV decision. All games to kick off the same time on the last day of the season. Wonder what would have happened if last weekends fixtures were the last programme of the season, we got switched to a Sunday against Coventry because of the rugby. What would Coventry had to do, would they have been allowed to be different because they don’t own the ground? No

town 0 walsall 2 done deal on the advice of police ;-) I hope they've laid down some sensible plans for access to Smithy's Bar, which at present is open to all away fans. Walsall have always made us welcome before their Bescott Club closed, never a problem you seem to forget 98% of both teams supporters are decent non violent friendly folk who don’t really hate other clubs fans.... It’s all a bit of banter.....eccept for the knuckle draggers that spoil it and mean we need the SAS and SWAT in attendance for Saturdays game at great expense....... In fact I’d go as far to say if it wasn’t us they were playing I’d hope they survived cos I’d much rather go to Walsall than, Southend Sc***horpe or Plymouth on a Tuesday night..... Perhaps your the type that wants violence? Let them in all will be fine 👍

However, I was less than impressed to return to my car at Walsall one year to find 'Walsall FC' carved into the paintwork. At least 2 of Sc***horpe, Plymouth and Southend are likely to be relegated with Walsall anyway. But you'll still have the delights of Gillingham to sample.

My boss wasn’t too impressed about it either, he wasn’t a football fan so didn’t understand why it might happen in Warsaw.

Just another stick to beat Ricketts with

Ticket sales looking brisk for this one in all parts of the ground. A dozen or so left in safe standing. That must be because it's such an unimportant, unattractive fixture, the result of which will be utterly irrelevant to Town fans and definitely won't impact the mood around the club going into the summer break and ultimately next season.

Just had a quick look at the seating plan.
I reckon there's less than a 1000 tickets left to sell.

Or maybe because it’s the last game of the season with no footy for 3 months and an attractive local Derby with plenty at risk for the opposition

Walsall look nailed on for the drop as they need results elsewhere but wouldn't it be nice if all them results go for them then we stick in a late winner.
