West Mercia/Midlands police chiefs are readying themselves for the huge amount of overtime payments that are due to be submitted

I think one certain outcome is that we will see at least one idiot (possibly from either side) running onto the pitch for this one, expect a heavy police presence for this game.

To stay up, Walsall would need to beat us, and 2 of these 3 other results to go their way:-
Plymouth to lose or draw at home against Sc***horpe. Southend to lose or draw at home against Sunderland. AFC Wimbledon to lose away against Bradford.

Ricketts was talking about being up for this game and wanting to finish as high as we can. That's fine but I just think they will be way more up for this than we will so I'd make them favourites to win next weekend.

Now Telford's season is over we should be able to use Ryan Barnett next weekend. With Whalley not playing that is a bonus.

Should be pretty close to a full house come Saturday. It's Walsall who are going to be under pressure to get a result, it's going to be tough on them, not us. I can see us winning and in style

AFC Wimbledon to lose away against Bradford. I want us to win but I agree with the comment that they should be favourites, given what’s at stake for them when there’s nothing much in it for us. If we do lose and they go down anyway ....... well, that’d just be too bad.

And even if they do win, other results should send them down.
Plymouth should beat Sc***horpe. Sunderland can now only make the playoffs, so may be resting players at Southend. Wimbledon could at least get a point at Bradford. .

whilst it would be nice to send Walsall down but as they are a boggy team for us who knows what will happen, they need a win to have a chance of staying up. will ricketts pick his strongest team, with Sears and whalley wont be fit and i think it would be silly to risk norburn .or will he think about next season and play the fringe players ?

Just mad that we might be spending time above them, seems an age since we were in a higher division. For how long though...

Remember back in 1961, last game of the season at the Old Meadow, Walsall needing to win and QPR had to lose for them to be promoted, Over 18,000 packed in,Walsall winning 2-1 now fast forward to this w/end similar circumstances, only difference Is they need to win to stay up, going to be mayhem I feel.

Walsall bringing their own stewards....when you think of the number of police and stewards at the Ricoh yesterday ‘surrounding’ peaceful town fans there must have been 40 police and close on 100 stewards around us..... Expect Saturdays game to be more Police and Stewards than we’ve ever seen including horses and dogs in the corners even in front of block 18/19...

This is a potential banana skin for Ricketts and a real test of his ability as a manager.
A couple of weeks ago we were looking at an easy midtable finish, then a tough game at Barnsley and a p**spoor performance at home v Oxford gave us a far more nervy finish than anticipated.
If we only stay up by a point or, worse, a couple and Walsall stay up by beating us at our place that's a thoroughly dissatisfactory season from Ricketts. Compare and contrast with Hurst who came in at crisis point and turned us round to promotion form; Ricketts inherited a winning team and turned them to s**te overnight seemingly. The sight of Walsall's travelling fans celebrating survival on our pitch will be a real psychological blow to many of our fans who will hold Ricketts responsible.
By the sounds of things we grew into the game after a poor start yesterday. I just hope Ricketts can maintain a decent level of training and commitment over the next week and doesn't think now is the time to start blooding too many youngsters or let the players slack off.
Note to Ricketts (if it wasn't clear already); you are not off the hook yet, we expect a win on Saturday or at the very, very least an entertaining draw against a spirited side with a lot to play for. Anything less than that will dump you right back in it in my view.

05:30am at Police recommendation😜 All league 1 Ko 5.30 pm. Guess it's TV decision. All games to kick off the same time on the last day of the season. Wonder what would have happened if last weekends fixtures were the last programme of the season, we got switched to a Sunday against Coventry because of the rugby. What would Coventry had to do, would they have been allowed to be different because they don’t own the ground?
