- we finished with 87 points and thought we were unfortunate that such a total didn't get us an automatic promotion place. It looks likely that 87 would only have got us 6th place this season - bottom of the play offs!

Worth bearing in mind how much we tailed off late on (Bradford, bury, MK Dons, Blackpool games), when it became clear we wouldn’t make top 2...
Personally believe we could’ve nudged in to the 90’s - had focus not changed to the play offs (or Ipswich...)

Charlton have kept their focus on the league, despite never being in with a shout of the top 2.

Amazing end to the season at the top too.
Luton threatening to throw it all away. Barnsley leave on points with worst GD but are the team in form.
Had Pompey found a winner at Sunderland they’d have had the title with two more wins. As it is they could still steal into the top 2.

Best Sunderland can do now is the play offs bearing in mind their inferior goal difference.

Isn’t that a direct result of the bottom end of the division where any of 8 or 10 teams could quite easily have been relegated with 3 or 4 games to go? This season the top teams have beaten the bottom teams a little more often than is usual any other year.
