It seems that Barnsley fans are moaning and whinging firstly about the standard of refereeing, claiming that he was giving Salop all the decisions and also saying what a dirty side we are,so what how many times have we been on the receiving end of dodgy decisions.Have a listen on Tykes tv, quite amusing.

Its an offensive though isn't it, holding a player? Not sure it needs to have any impact. If a player is clearly holding a player back by pulling on his shirt its a free kick. So I think it should have been a penalty... I suspect Mr Ricketts agrees with you he was having a right good chat with the ref at the final whistle. In my opinion it’s good he has other friends as he spent the whole game talking to the fourth official.

Perhaps I may not have done so if we hadn't of got anything last week but I really enjoyed that. Yeah we didn't get anything out of the game but we really did have a right good go at them and more than matched them. A little more composure in front of goal and we should have come away with the point. Really encouraging display. I gather come Monday we've reached the territory that if results go our way it could be all be sorted and we can be officially safe? Strange game football. We played absolute muck v Wycombe and won too. If we play like yesterday throughout next season (and take a chance or 3!) I will be very happy

A high pressure game on Monday now against a very in form Oxford team (W7 D2 L1 in their last 10 games). High pressure? Know the job isn’t done yet but one point from our remaining 3 games should be enough, however I won’t be happy if we lose our next 2 games and if we go into the Walsall game needing something, hopefully we can wrap it up against Oxford but know it won’t be easy, and they wiped the floor with us at their place. Yes high pressure because it represents our best chance to get it done earlier. One point from three may well be enough but that was one point from four last weekend and could be one point from two by Monday evening. I've seen too many of these things go down to the wire to be in any way complacent. If we need something at Coventry playing them on the Sunday after everyone else has played the day before could work for or against us. Results on the Saturday could mean we're safe before the Coventry game kicks off, alternatively results could have gone against us the day before.

There are nine teams below us and between them they've averaged 3 points from their last 5 games. One is already down, all nine have much worse goal differences than us. Can six teams out of eight get a surge of good results and go past us? I don't want us to test it but I strongly suspect we would stay up without getting another point. One more point would surely seal it, one win definitely would. I don't think the pressure's on us at all, but that's no excuse for not being fully focused on winning on Monday to clinch it. The last team to get relegated from league 1 with 51 points was Torquay in 2005. Only a handful of teams in the last couple of decades have gone down with 50, so with the number of teams below us and our decent GD we're pretty much there, but be nice if we were mathematically safe before the final game. This is anything but a normal League 1 relegation battle. It would be no surprise to see someone go down with 50 or 51 points this season.

Daniel Stendel post-match. We won the game because we scored twice, one more than Shrewsbury and because we have the best goalkeeper in League One. I think that’s the biggest reason we won today. He (Davies) was excellent today.”
It was a tough game like the reverse fixture in Shrewsbury – it was very physical. Shrewsbury caused us a lot of problems, they had three or four big chances to win the game, they were better today but I’m happy with the result.sport.bt.com/news/stendel-keeps-focus-on-davies-display-amid-questions-about-barton-S11364356501725

Nobody will go down with 51 and I'll be very surprised if the team in 21st gets to 50.

Their keeper did superbly to stop Whalley and Campbell but there's no doubt Fej should have scored at the end. Keeper went down far too quickly and a little more composure from a normally very assured finisher to lift it over would have got us the point (at least) that our performance merited.

I will be very happy I know I stand alone here, I did not see what everybody else did. We were better than recent weeks, but far from good. We could not keep the ball. I did not see any high press, McGeehan, their CM dictated play, our midfield could not (or maybe did not want to) get anywhere near him. Yes we did have the better chances, but apart from the chances they were always in control. We lost virtually every second ball. I thought Docherty offered very little, but I thought that last week also and he was awarded MOM. The ball he played in to Waterfall, was a top quality pass, Premiership level, but apart from that he was anonymous. If we play like that every week, letting the opponents have the ball and dictate play we will be in trouble, Oxford keep the ball better than Barnsley

Three 1 on 1s, a Waterfall sitter, Campbell flashed just wide and Golbourne superbly kept out. Aye, they had us under control alright. Barnsley were a damn good side & we matched them and more. They had chances of their own, of course they did. We went there allowing/expecting Barnsley to have all of the ball & I would imagine they’re a lot better at it than Oxford will be tomorrow.

Barnsley had a lot of possession no question, but how many saves did Mitchell actually have to make?
Barnsley failed to really hurt us with this possession, however Salop looked dangerous when we attacked and their defence were unable to cope.
Barnsley Managers post match summary was accurate in my view

Was the idea to concede possession and hit Barnsley on the break? Nearly came off with 3 one on ones.
