Let's hope we see the real Dave Edwards next season. Rolling back the years and bossing our midfield 😊

Godfrey will be a Premier league player next season. We were extraordinarily lucky to have had him here. Sam needs to unearth someone similar.

We've built some good reputations with higher clubs with our deveopment of loan players the last few years, most have done well. I'm sure Ro-Shaun has a couple of mates ...

Carlton is 23 and Dave Edwards will be 34 next February. i wonder if physically his body has had enough. whilst i really hope he can be fully fit and play a part for us next year. it gets harder to come back after a number of injuries and with age.

I notice the date of the Carlton Morris bit is September last year, any more up to date info available.

Good news for Morris then, he will be hoping to get a good pre season under his belt and will probably be shipped out on loan next season again. Of course a lot has changed at Town since he was with us so he might not feature in the new management teams plans or the contacts might not be there now. Be good to have him back though (with someone alongside him to feed off him this time).

It looks like he'll miss a lot of pre season if he's only just beginning to jog at the moment. He's 33 now and not played much in the past 18 months. I can only see Edwards being used as a squad player next season. Must be an expensive player to have sat on the bench or in the stands and we have another two years of his contract to run.

Well, this p**ses on the chips of the 'Dave just needs a good pre-season behind him' theory.
Nothing personal, but this signing never made any sense beyond the return of the prodigal son fairytale.

I hope I'm proved wrong but Edwards could end up being a rather expensive disappointment of a signing at this rate.

I cant see Dave Edwards ever being a regular for us at his age, he is injury prone , always has been even when younger. I just hope he can get long enough runs to show us how good he is/was between injuries. I'm sure his main role in coming back here is in the future when he is no longer playing as much as the immediate future on the pitch tbh.

We'll be lucky to get 20 games out of him over his stay. Saying that, I think he'd sooner retire than continue taking a wage. A decent & genuine, Salop lad..

whilst i hope he can be fully fit, can anyone be suprised he spent most of his time in reading injured ,if he was not a fans faviourite would fans be so forgiving to sign such an injury prone player .
so we have an injury prone player recovering from injury who has not been able to take part in pre season training. it would be foolish to expect Edwards to be ready by August or we will have a re run of last season.it will be a bonus if he is anything but a bit player.

He’s made over 500 appearances during his career so far, so not a total sick note.

Let's all write off Dave Edwards shall we. i really hope he can make a full recovery and i am not writing him off but neither am i ignoring what has happened since 2017.as it is he has not had a pre season training and has only just started doing light jogging .it would be foolish to expect him back very soon.
