Article from the Daily Fail website. Unfortunately keeps referring to the Shrewsbury element. A growing trend within football again and not great publicity. England Hoodlums

It's just a news article. Nothing to be worried about. Nothing will happen. There won't be any resulting ground closures, travel restrictions etc So, get an early night and stop getting excited eh?
But, Shrewsbury do have an undeniable record of troublemakers who attach themselves to a small Shropshire town and, follow the National side..Well known for teaming up with other clubs' 'Terrace Dandy's' just to have a go at local rivals. Like Wrexham. Allegiances with Oldham. Hibs.....even....Ch.....Chester.
They all get caught sooner or later. CCTV etc That's why they call them The Police.

As I understand it the UK police have made great strides in making sure that many of those who would cause major issues aren't able to travel and attend England games. Pretty sure they've got an angle on the real troublemakers who are now nowhere near the games. I appreciate that a number of England fans will be drunk, loud and probably a pain in the arse to anyone in the vicinity but I doubt its anywhere near as bad as it used to be. It all seems to have been kept in check or? The vast majority of England fans (whenever I have attend games) are just your normal, average football fan looking to take a game in as they do most weekends. Sure you have a minority who are a pain in the arse but England are no different to anyone else on that front...

"As representatives of the country, the England fans behaved themselves very well and there were no arrests... the vast majority of fans travelling with England are decent people who save hard to make the trip."
A number of England fans got drunk and two flares got let off. No arrests made, no violent disorder.
Nothing to see here.

Give over Pilch. You have a serious issue with block 19, or more likely a particular individual within it. This has been proven time and time again with your posts. Who is it you have a problem with? Your witch hunt of block 19 and all within it is frankly embarrassing.

England fans (yes even the ones from Shrewsbury) can be obnoxious, drunken pricks by all accounts but it seems a bit unfair to focus on what amounts to letting off a couple of flairs and singing a song they will grow out of in a couple of years when a number of England's players were subject to a barage of racist abuse.
A more cynical person would be forgiven for suggesting that the Daily Heil are disappointed that the England thugs haven't given them more to write about and are doing their best to manufacture a controversy out of nothing.
These "hooliganism on the rise" stories seem to pop up annually but seem more like desperate pleas from the journalists than genuine concern.

I was right about him too ;-) If you think a few people singing about a terrorist organisation compares to continued, directed racial abuse of our footballers by 100s, possibly 1000s of fans then you need to give your head a wobble. It really is disgraceful comparing the two.

There'll be plenty more stories like this from Porto in June rather than "10,000 England fans: 0 arrests"

I mentioned the pope, what has he done to get abused most games according to you a couple of england fans up to go good but thousands of Montenegro fans being racist oh and there were about 7-8000 Montenegro fans inside the ground on monday 650 official england fans and over 100 england fans with tickets for the home possibly even Chelsea ones ;-0 anyway, I'll leave you to defend the sectarian chants and block 19, as I fear you are dragging me down to your level maybe start a thread up asking if sectarian chants are ok at football games go on I dare you

www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-legend-john-barnes-hypocritical-16036364If anyone should know the impact of this it is John Barnes,i agree with him i did feel there was an element of finger pointing in the coverage and it is hypocritical to not also admit we have a long standing problem in this country just becuse it is not as bad as the 70's does not excuse it. "Liverpool legend John Barnes has pointed out the hypocrisy of condemning the overt racism which marred England's 5-1 victory in Montenegro on Monday, while there are still clear examples of racism permeating the Premier League. Barnes, who suffered appalling racist abuse throughout his own playing career for Watford, Liverpool and England, has asked why the abuse endured by Danny Rose and Raheem Sterling in Podgorica has sparked such a high profile outcry. Barnes told Sky News : "Up and down the country every single week at football matches you have black football players being racially abused so why is this any different? "I think that it is quite hypocritical that we want to talk about Montenegro and say how terrible it is when we have not taken care of the problem here. "We go to Montenegro once every six months, whereby every week we face it here in droves. So what is more serious? Going to Montenegro once a year or black people facing this every single day of their lives?"
