Waterfall is a striker waiting to happen. <iframe width="18.720000000000027" height="2.960000000000008" style="position: absolute; width: 18.720000000000027px; height: 2.960000000000008px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none;left: 15px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_18462776" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="18.720000000000027" height="2.960000000000008" style="position: absolute; width: 18.72px; height: 2.96px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 881px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_35387609" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="18.720000000000027" height="2.960000000000008" style="position: absolute; width: 18.72px; height: 2.96px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 15px; top: 89px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_31166591" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="18.720000000000027" height="2.960000000000008" style="position: absolute; width: 18.72px; height: 2.96px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 881px; top: 89px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_73774107" scrolling="no"></iframe> And AAH's future (if any) could lie as a defender. He's played there before. Disagree about Waterfall though. No way could he be a striker.

It’s brilliant how football can divide opinions because absolutely no part of me thinks he will be playing in top end league 1 side unless they are a surprise package and play a ‘physical’ brand of football. I agree he is great (the best) at heading, blocking and clearing but that’s your bread and butter. As a centre back, that’s what he needs to be doing. However you need to be able to do more these days. Centre backs dictate the style of football you can play. He panics me when he’s near the ball on the ground- whether he has the ball or if somebody is running at him and because of this we’ve been protecting him by playing 3 at the back (which means there has been no flexibility in formation). Agree he’s good from corners but he has been directly responsible for goals this season and puts us under pressure too. He seems like a good guy and he clearly gives 100% week after week but, personally, his limitations far outweigh his benefits. we'd have been relegated without him in my opinion His goals away at Wimbledon (3 points) and Sunderland (1 point) were crucial, i'm sure there's more. Plus, he won the most duels in the league didn't he? Ridiculous people doubt him, he's a solid enough League One defender who is also an offensive threat!

I see Man Utd have signed Mike Phelan as assistant manager. A good move to get someone experienced in to assist a struggling new young manager. Please note SR.

you expect the manager to talk up the team and only time will tell , the reality for this season we stayed up by two points with some dire football. but next season it will his fitness regime and his team

Not surprised he is sticking with this formation. We have in the squad a good number of first team centre back and centre mids. Based on keeping the majority of those, the key recruitment for first team will be focused on wingbacks (especially if Haynes goes and Bolton doesn't sign), a partner up top for Fey, a new keeper, and another centre back. Presume a fair few of these may be on loan. Still a lot of players to get rid of though - also what happens to the 3 wingers we have in the squad? Gilliead, Whalley and Eisa have all played central for periods but all pretty new to them, and isn't space for all of them in the squad. Am hoping the clear deadwood (Angol, Jones) are found new homes, and probably others (Gilliead, Haynes, Grant) very quickly to create some cash and space for the new players.

Doesn't look good for Eisa.

Doesn't look good for Eisa. Was meant to be in long term plans though and signed new contract at end of January? At minimum surely remains a good injection of pace off the bench?

Always makes me laugh that , “ nothing but promotion “ then it is . Ashley could have done well but we will never know , he got slaughtered disgracefully in my view . Still , such is life . I do not have confidence in SR, but will support him next season . Hope he learns from the season gone and I think he needs time , surely calling for a change early doors if things are a bit sticky isn’t good .

I think Eisa could play the "Whalley" role alongside/behind a striker in a 3-5-2, 3-5-1-1 system.
I'm not convinced completely on Ricketts but he's saying the things I want him to saying. Signing a few quality players and trimming the squad is what I've advocated for many, many months.
Looks positive, let's see how the transfer business goes!

Well we will all see, when the first batch of new players come in.then we can see if it's buy cheap pay twice kind of players, or players brought in with a little bit of quality. Can't really judge ricketts until then can we?

Well good news that he is looking to play two up top.
Whatever happens I hope Eisa is given an opportunity. He looked as though he could bring a little excitement to things and I'd be a little put out if it were another set of supporters who were enjoying that...

Not sure with the hype about Eisa, having seen him play a few times he looked out of his depth and too lightweight at times. Maybe his time on loan has strengthened the mind and body but we would be premature to rely on him as a first team regular yet, and imagine the dischord on here if he failed in his first 3 games, and for the bloke that picked him.

Leutwiler’s contract has been extended at Blackburn.

I'm not entirely convinced, but he was given a new contract before going out on loan so there must be some sort of plan. He may well head out on loan again. He scored 2 goals in first two games at Colchester, but nothing after that, and although started some games, i don't think he ever lasted 90 mins which doesn't exactly scream that he is ready for playing the league above.
