Take a chance to read this! The man is an absolute disgrace without even throwing in his Saudi Arabia allegiance.

Did everyone not get the SP message from one attendee that B and A MUST stop being mean to our local MP Nope, might also mention his work for a Russian mining company of gold and him backing a project which is seeing gold prices go up... The list goes on. And I'm still disappointed he never backed safe standing.

Although from what one or two have said previous I doubt he could find the ground could he? He doesn't take in games? Just parps up every now and again when we're heading to Wembley is it?

Wiki has numerous details about him, including his response towards a one legged beggar and his attempts at matchmaking a young researcher with a much older overseas businessman. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Kawczynski

Didn't decline, just never replied. Still, he's the better choice over someone who has served their country and works for the NHS apparently. There, you go.

Just parps up every now and again when we're heading to Wembley is it? I got more support from the Tory MP for Montgomeryshire. Quite a nice email actually with his support. There is a cringy photo of Dan at the meadow holding a shirt with the tag still on it. Imagine it went straight back to the shop. Not asking for a loyal Salopian but at least when we needed him, or not, it would have been an easy win to back.

You vote Labour I assume? Mostly yeah. I did however vote Green in 2015, as the Labour at the time was nothing more than Tory-lite and had a pro-auserity agenda. I also voted BNP in one European election, but everyone is allowed an odd aberation occasionally.
Not sure how the parties in Germany align with our parties, but seeing as we're assuming, I'll hazard a guess that you vote for the equivalent of UKIP or the Tories.

Has she been called a '****ing hag' on here? And just to add, the fact that Abbott gets abuse means that you find it perfectly acceptable to use such abuse towards Lucy Allen? Nice.

You said I hadn't stepped in when Abbott has been abused, so can you show where Abbott has been called anything like a "****ing hag" here on B&A? The fact that someone has done nothing for Telford means it's OK to call her a "****ing hag"? Because they get off light compared to most left wing politicians (which I do not believe for one second) means you deem it OK to call her a "****ing hag". Well at least you're being open and honest about it, it's refreshing to see sections of the left as they really are... I'll say it now that I deem any abuse directed our politicians as unacceptable, it should not happen. Whether that it the awful abuse Abbott has suffered or any other abuse directed at our politicians. There is no place for it, or rather there shouldn't be. And of course that also goes for misogynist abuse like you have used here...

There is no place for it, or rather there shouldn't be. And of course that also goes for misogynist abuse like you have used here... We can argue over whether I'm a misogynist 'til the cows come home, but you taking one comment about about an MP I detest and twisting it to your agenda is your regular modus operandi and I can't frankly be bothered arguing the toss with you. You have your opinion of me and it matters absolutely nothing to me at all. I suppose the only thing I can grateful for is that Ms. Allan isn't Jewish, otherwise you would no doubt be throwing anti-semitism in my face too. BTW I just mentioned that you had called me a misogynist to my daughter (a vehement feminist) and she burst out laughing. I would think that she knows me a little better than you ever will.
My one consolation is that never have to meet you face to face, as quite frankly I don't really think we'd get on. Enjoy your life in the EU, while we in the UK (or soon to be Little England) suffer under the most opressive cuts regime in my lifetime and yes I was around under Thatcher.

He's not the sharpest tool in the box is he but what can can you do. I can only assume that people vote for him in order to keep those running Labour out of government. And for that they can only be applauded. Needs must... Yeah it would be terrible if we got Dr Davies as our MP. You know, an actual doctor whose held down a real life job and understands how the nhs works instead of a career politician, corporate shill and ****ing moron to boot. People need to stop treating political parties like football teams and vote for the candidate not the party.

But how can you do that when the government of the day is determined by the party with the most seats? You vote Labour locally and it is helping them form a government. Which many people think, now more than ever, would be a very bad thing for the UK. They wouldn't want to enable that in any way. I don't think its as easy as you suggest. I think people look to consider both the candidate and the party when looking to cast their vote. Its not just about the individual but the politics they and their party represent. And whilst Dr Davies may understand how the NHS works that doesn't automatically mean she would be a good MP, perhaps thats also how plenty of people see it. I appreciate that the NHS is always mentioned as a top concern for people in the UK when it comes to voting intention but I'm sure its not the be all and end all, perhaps they think she is lacking in other areas. Or perhaps, even though he is prone to drop a clanger or two, plenty think Kawczynski (on the whole) is doing a good job for his area...

People keep re electing him based on their blind loyalty to the conservative party and because they believe the drivel served up to them on a daily basis by the tabloids with their Corbyn scare stories (Project Fear if you will). The conservative party has made a colossal **** up of things both locally (unsafe local acute trust, local authority scrambling to avoid financial ruin) and nationally (same problems multiplied by 2000, the "b word"). How can you possibly, with a straight face, propose voting for them as a strategy to keep any party out at all? The bunch of bumbling incompetents and outright crooks we have in Westminster right now need to get out of the way and let someone else take over the reigns and if that has to be Jeremy Corbyn, so be it. At least then we might get a genuine end to austerity in public services which, to a lot of people (myself included) is at least as important as brexit if not more so.

I literally could not give less of a **** about Dianne Abbott. The important point is that "Corbynomics", far from being the fringe rantings of a lefty lunatic, is far more in line with mainstream economic thought (which holds that counter cyclical expenditure in a downturn is the way to stimulate growth; this is why Brown had tge economy griwing again before Cameron and Osborne's purely ideological austerity plunged us into recession again) likely to deliver a safe level of public services and genuine economic growth. The lunatics have already taken over tge asylum; it's conservative policy which is sending people to food banks and seeing ever more widespread hunger in one of tge richest countries in the world. The level of brainwashing required to not see thst is impressive and infuriating in equal measure. Anyway, I'll leave you to your two minutes hate. I hear Goldstein was seen in Brussels this week.....

I don't need the media to tell me that Corbyn is not for me or right for the UK. He manages to do that himself. As do Abbott and McDonnell. We've been through the same discussion many times on this board and I have made my feelings clear about why I wouldn't want these three people anywhere near government. Nothing I have seen or heard since has changed my mind, quite the opposite in fact. And you can't simply look at this from an economic view (not that they win me over on that front either), it goes way beyond that... And hate? No, I don't hate them. I can't say I hate anyone in politics. Nice try though...

Always surprised me how we end up with some duffers as the local MP. We have some very hard working Councillors who know their area well, and have long experience in politics, yet the candidates for Parliament are often shipped in from outside the county and have no real connection to the town. Conway came from the North East, Marsden from Cheshire and DK previously stood in a London seat before being imposed on Shrewsbury.
Would much rather see people who have come through the local political system stand - they at least know the area could represent the area well.
Labour have run Shrewsbury Council for the last few years, and picked a local candidate for the next election with a close connection to a hot local topic, which together with DK's slight issues with facts might see the next election a bit closer than recent ones.

If people actually stopped reading the Times and Mail, they might realise Corbyn and Labour have decent Social Democratic polices.
If they actually got their heads out of their backsides, they might realise Labour's current policies might work.
Having said that. Corbyn's view on the EU is no better than Reece-Mogg and BoJo. Who would of thought that, eh?

I read recently that your MP was being paid £72k a year by a US company called Electrum.
According to Wiki it's into private health care which will leave DK well placed to influence NHS privatisation after Brexit.
On the wider subject of Parliament and the MPs who serve there I'd recommend 'Why We Get The Wrong Politicians' by Isobel Hardman.
Quite a depressing read and it goes a long way to explaining why we get so much bad legislation coming out of Westminster.
