Dave joins Town on a two and a half year contract.I really, really do hope he can stay injury free. If so this could be a great signing...

I’m very happy about this. Just concerned we’ve given him a two and a half year contract when he turns 33 soon. I’m sure he’ll be our highest earner too.

Its a contract that ties him up long enough to take over as manger if Ricketts fails

Is he actually fit and OK to play now? Or has he an injury?

Is he actually fit and OK to play now? Or has he an injury? Surely he’s had a medical and passed with flying colours ...... Should we play him against PV is the question

Roland looks ten years younger in the picture, assume it's recent. Both look very pleased. Amazing there wasn't a shirt ready for DE to wear/hold.

As I said here last week. It would have been announced then but for Edwards holding out for extra year , arguing quite rightly that it would have been a 2 yr contract anyway if he signed in the summer as was the original plan

On behalf of the sadly deleted Jeffrey Kl8 and fellow salopians. Welcome home to the contract abstainer.
Nice to see he's signed this one.

Can we start to get rid of a few players too? Thinking loft for a start

whilst this is good news ,you would assume he would be one of the higher paid players and a factor in morris wanting a move to luton.
one Reading fans view of things under thread " clear out started" "Edwards never performed to his potential/fans expectation but how much of that was down to him and how much down to not being properly used we’ll never really know." Edwards is one of 8 reading players either sent out on loan or released
in a previous interview Rickets talked of thinning the squad down to help with new players. i do hope we have funds for other players .
for me i think we have to be see how he shapes up ,he has had little game town is he fully fit and if so he will bound to be rusty ? is this as others speculated a step towards eventual coaching role within the club?

Can we start to get rid of a few players too? Thinking loft for a start Hendrie seems to be wanted by Grimsby. Morris is of interest to Luton and other Clubs. Gnahoua is on loan to Fylde until halfway through January. They might want to keep him until end of season. I guess Loft and Kennedy will need to be paid off if we want rid. Coleman and perhaps Emmanuel to go back to parent Clubs? No idea what we can do with Jones! Still got over 2 years on his contract. Very strange signing by PH.

Welcome back dave.
Need to temper immediate expectations though depending on how match fit he is.
A match fit dave edwards is a bloody great signing though!
