Hopefully Okenabirhie and Whalley will be available for the replay. It would be nice to think that Morris would be in line to replace Norburn, at least in the 18 for the replay, but given his complete absence today I'm not sure he will which will be a waste of a good player in my opinion. Today certainly leaves the feeling that a big opportunity has been missed. Has he played in the. Fa cup for Wycombe? No.

Mixed feelings, on the one hand they are a league above us and had a decent side out so a draw should never be criticised. On the other hand they were awful, clearly short on confidence and with their fans baying for blood, they were there for the taking. I've heard quite a few people say it was an entertaining game and we played well, personally I think it was a dull game between two strugging sides.
I hope the current formation/style is down to the personnel available to Ricketts, rather than something he thinks is going to work for us long term.

Salop matched Stoke for large parts of the game but was a little disappointed we seemed to set up in a similar way as we did for the game at Sunderland, playing like that to get a point at a high flyer in the league is fine but a little disappointed we set up like that for a home game in the cup to be honest even if it was against a ‘superior’ side.

Proud Salopian and Schizo sum it up perfectly. Whatever happened to lower league clubs giving it a go?

Christ on a bike, cannot be.ieve some of the comments. Stoke are a poor Championship side, they have the players but their attitude is poor. When they decided to “ play” their power and pace was evident. Overall we played very well, closed them down, played good football and should have scored a second through Holloway. I thought we played well 1- 11. Norburn was superb first half, but faded second half, Holloway was excellent, held the ball up well and won most of his headers. I have given Waterfall a lot of stick over the past few weeks, but fair play he did very well again today. I fail to see just what the support of this team want. If we don’t win easily, then it seems that most think we have played poorly. We were Stoke’s equal throughout the match, and better for most of it. We are what we are, a mid- table side with an outside chance of a top seven finish. I have witnessed far more turgid displays over past seasons, this was a good game. Most on here talk absolute bollox. Not sure about the 1-11 bit, as I thought our No. 42 was pretty special as well.😜

i know it is very easy to have all the answers when you are just looking at a brief video
seen the goals i thought it was Bolton on the wing but it was Waterfall the winger turned him inside out, i thought Haynes had a very good game and i know Crouch is a handful but he did not pick up his run till it was to late(were was the communication ?)

I thought it was a very good professional performance yesterday and Rickets got his tactics about right. We controlled the game for over an hour by stopping Stoke from playing, we took the lead just before half time and Holloway really should have made it 2 0 after an hour. I don't agree with those that think we should have committed to all out attack. We're not good enough at the back for that, even at League 1 level let alone a team that was Premier League last season. And why do so many on here say when we play well that the opposition were "rubbish". We make them look poor so please give credit to our team when they deserve it. It wasn't an exciting game yesterday but it was a very good performance. Two mistakes cost us; Holloway's miss and Waterfall getting dragged out of position and then skinned. Dont forget we were without Okanibirhie and Whalley up front and they might both be back for the replay. This tie is not over yet and it's more money in the pot for the club.

What sort of money can the club expect from the Replay?

45% of the gate receipts plus a further £135,000 if we win the tie.

I totally agree with Blue Boys post, but part of me thinks Ricketts is quite happy to revert to this tactic more often than he should ? Charlton are better than us. Should we do it Saturday as well? I'd start with Angol Tues night with Ok and take them both off at half time regardless of the score. If they look ok then start them against Charlton. With Lewis now out he can't really let Angol go in Jan as that would mean two forwards needed in January. We've now got to trust him from the start sometime soon and just hope his attitude changes ?

I’d be surprised if even 15,000 turn up i remember when the ticket prices were announced shrewsbury thanked stoke for letting “us keep our league prices as normal” . Now for the replay it’s £15 for adults . Something tells me it was more us that fancied making it £20 and not stoke .

We just a work in progress again.
Held our own 1st half, dominated them, deserved that lead. Didn't kill them off 2nd, hence Crouch's Hollywood appearance goal late on, fair to him, generally we need a striker, and now our old Tom Eves doing well...typical old boy Shrews, as per Jordan Clark at Accy. Cant see us winning replay, but it can be a run out for Ricketts to test his line up tactics. This gonna be another important Jan' Transfer Window...see who he rids & brings in......COYB.

What on earth is the matter with Angol? Holloway may as well have stayed on. Angol looked completely disinterested, wasn't prepared to run to close down players even though he was fresh on the pitch, and failed to concentrate on staying onside. Holloway was 5 yards offside and walking within a few minutes of coming on. Norburn/Docherty were evidently holding their pass until he came onside but he continued to stroll offside by an embarrassing distance. This lack of professionalism & inability to even hit the target with the header just about sums up our first choice target man. Awful, awful player.

A new managerial appointment will be made as swiftly as possible but in the meantime Rory Delap, Kevin Russell and Andy Quy will take charge of first-team affairs.
