so after a dire turgid game
Stoke are not pulling up any trees currently 14th in Championship last five game; won 1 ; drawn 2 ; lost 2 . had a brief look at there forum and many of there fans are far from happy with how they are playing .
what do you think rickets needs to do for this game ? concentrate on the league and play fringe players or play his best team bearing in mind we looked tired and we have a busy few days? what formation would you like to see? what players would you play? we know we are going to have at least one change as ferjiri is suspend , Holloway played two third of the Fleetwood game after recovering from an illness so should we rest him or play him for part of the game?
the main issue's for me are; sloppy defending, giving cheap free kicks in dangerous areas ,inconsistent form, too muck kick and hope and dreadful distribution in the last third . i just hope we wont be as bad as as we were against Fleetwood

The memory of Burton, Stanley and Fleetwood are still too vivid.
Stoke will not play a pressing game (which we struggle against) and thus provides us with a better opportunity to get the ball down and play it on the deck.
The FA Cup is a money spinner particularly if we can get through to the next round and get a decent draw.
I would play our best team and bring Mr Angol (who looked decent against Fleetwood) in for Mr O.
Looking forward to this game

Think we have to play strongest team available with fringe players asked to do a job on Tuesday. It will be interesting to see what kind of team Stoke put out. Manager is under pressure so don't think he can afford to play a weakened team. Hoping Woods plays. He is quality and a pleasure to watch his passing skills.

It will be worth going just to see Woodsy again.

I'd like to see Morris given a game. See if he can carry on his decent season.
That said Gillied deserves a start so not sure who should make way unless we play 4 3 3

I think Stoke will play a strong side, we must do the same. This is a potentially very lucrative game for Town.

According to today's papers, Rowett may not be in charge of them by the weekend.
Fans have turned against him and Moyes being lined up.

Considering he's under a fair amount of pressure and needs some breathing space I would be very surprised if Rowett plays a weakened side. Haven't looked to closely to how things are going up there but looks a decent time to be playing the clayheads. If we can get the first goal and get their fans on Rowett's back we might be in with a sniff...

Talking to a Stoke fan today about this game, they have been dour apparently and he fully expects us to beat them and sees it as perhaps being Rowett's last game in charge. He also says he doesn't think Woods will play as he has been poor and not rated apparently, lots of sideways and backward passing.

Similar to the Stokies I've been speaking to, in fact some have said they would be happy to lose if it meant Rowett were to go. They have been apparently being playing terrible, dull football (although I did remind them they have never been renowned for free flowing, entertaining football......cough..Pullis...cough) so it sounds like Saturday could be a thriller if we perform like we did against Fleetwood.
Regarding Woods, apparently he started off well but has been poor in recent weeks

Yes I know a Stoke fan with similar concerns. Perhaps Woods will get his form back if they change managers.

From what I can gather, playing dull football under Rowett is the least of their worries at Stoke.

Away from the FA Cup we could certainly do without Rochdale and Sc***horpe, who have both strengthened this week, getting results from their home games tomorrow.

So we might well see old boy Moyes in the crowd tomorrow... The Times are also reporting that Stoke want him in to replace Rowett. Have no doubt whatsoever that Stoke will clear favorites for tomorrows game, rightly too considering the amount spent on each squad but all this paper talk can't be doing them much good...

He does like a plan does Ricketts... “It’s a game we will relish, something we will go into with a real clear idea of what we want to do. Hopefully a plan will come together".So perhaps something along the same lines as we saw against Sunderland; same lineup, same formation. Maybe similar games with us expected to be on the back foot.

There has been no mention that I've seen from either the club or the press about Bryn Morris being involved tomorrow. He really should be on the bench at least in my opinion.

Stoke have masses of Premier League quality in their squad so I'm not surprised Rowett is under pressure. The thought of Tom Ince, for example, running at our back four tomorrow should be giving the likes of Sadler and Waterfall sleepless nights tonight

Not optimistic about this. Expect an easy win for Stoke.

Not optimistic about this. Expect an easy win for Stoke. I feel the opposite, never a better time to play them really with the current unrest going on there, we should be looking to exploit that.

If we turn up with a Barnsley performance we will win, however a Stanley performance........

Because of the stress at both clubs at moment, I think the 1st 20 mins performance will set the tone. Which team will turn up ?......Going to be noisy....which will help, especially Shrews, compared to last weeks library as Fleetwood had 2 taxis. Oh and suggestion to West Mercia, keep the Stokies on the Golf side Otley rd after game, not walk them along the fence like they did with Cov......its a flashpoint as the 18/19s walking underneath the mud path behind Powerleague.

with such an inconsistent team who knows how this will turn out but i hope town turn up, we cant afford to concede first .Stoke are having a poor seasons the fans are very unhappy, so a bright start an early town goal and the stoke fans might get on there teams back.i just hope we dont play long ball all game.

God help us As I have posted on the other thread its likely to be Laurent up top as per the Sunderland game. Wasn't there but informed LJL played well against Sunderland....
