His kicking can be dodgy at times, but what a kepper we have. Came out for everything and caught it most of the time as well as making some fine saves.
The lad is quality.

Certainly better than early season. Bit of a dodgy punch second half.

One outstanding save high to his left just after half time - a thoroughly decent keeper.

Unconvinced. We’ve been spoiled for goalkeepers over the past few years and Coleman just isn’t up to the likes of Deano and Daniels. He’s not the worst goalkeeper we’ve had but he’s not the best either.

Arguably at fault for their goal but he is more than good enough for this level and is noticeably improving by working with Coyne.

i think we got spoilt last season , he has had some good games his distribution is a bit erratic , tonight the good he did try to release the ball quickly a number of his clearance did put us in attacking positions, he produced one outstanding save and came for the ball and commanded his area, not so good made a dogs breakfast of a punch the ball went right in the danger area and town got away with it , i thought his failure to deal with a shoot and fumbling the ball contributed to the goal.Haynes saved his bacon with a goal line clearance otherwise it would have been 2-2.

I’m a fan, more than adequate for us
Also, did anyone see the way he celebrated when we made it 2-0?
If Henderson did that half the ground would be w@nking over him

He played well again today and at the Fleetwood game Coleman stopped us getting an embarrasing thrashing. He works hard and is definately improving each game .Deano was brilliant, but he made mistakes too and had a few tantrums. Well done Joel.

I went & he punched at a ball in the first half when it was shoulder height, mis-connecting too. I cant understand why keepers do it when its far easier to catch the damn thing.
And again, his kicking can be shocking.

Need to see their goal again (Sky highlights seemed to miss it) but thought Coleman flapped at it a bit which led to the ball running lose
Do think he is improving though and getting more confident in controlling his area and coming for crosses.
Can’t really see him going on to play for Huddersfield’s first team in the Premier League but more than capable as a league one keeper

Coleman is a decent league 1 keeper. He will make mistakes on a fairly regular basis & have some obvious weaknesses (such as erratic distribution) that is why he is at this level.
Overall he has kept us in more games than he has cost us & that is good enough for me. We have bigger issues to resolve.
Any comparison with Henderson is pointless really. Deano has the potential to play at the very highest level if he keeps progressing as he has done to date. We were very lucky to have him while we did but it was only ever going to he short term.

And again, his kicking can be shocking. One missed punch but several clean catches and a couple of good flicks. Good decision making by him tonight. Anyone would think keepers never drop catches. Oh, and a crucial save at 2-1. He played his part well.

He’s also very young, he’s only 6 months older than Deano.
Coleman is a decent all round keeper. His kicking is woeful but apart from that, he seems very good.
A top drawer save from Mowatt tonight too.

The one punch he did last night was through necessity in a crowded goal mouth. Cleared the ball so hardly a missed punch from what I can recall...
Just the usual experts picking fault on a steady keeper though a little wayward with the kicks but better last couple of games ( not perfect but who is remember Deano doing similar)

He's already well proven at this level for Oldham, which is how and why he got his big money move to Huddersfield. He also performed well for Huddersfield in the pressure of a Championship playoff game, he's more than good enough.

Did he wave at the end though or do any cartwheels..... No, just did his job to the best of his ability, I think everyone at the club is doing that and wants to do that and that's good enough for me. I hate slackers, but I don't think we have any at all, just needs a few process tweaks to allow everyone to do even better. Even if I thought anyone was duff, I wouldn't name them, except Whitters of course, naw, only joking, he does his best, hopefully the additional media person was recruited, is up to speed, and is helping him achieve.

I believe Joel Coleman is a thoroughly decent League 1 goalkeeper. There’s no doubt his kicking is inconsistent & needs to be worked on, but other than that I cannot see any major weaknesses. You’re going to get the odd flap in this league. His shot stopping is second to none, imo I’d rather have him than Craig Mcgillavray.
As has been pointed out, maybe if he started jumping into the crowd & was called Dean he’d get some more praise.

The new Huddersfield manager is having a look at a few of his fringe players with next season in mind. Their first choice keeper Jonas Lossl is leaving in the summer and they are looking for a new keeper and have been linked with Kieran Westwood. They also have Ben Hamer on the books who will probably be ahead of Coleman in the pecking order should they both be there next season. www.examinerlive.co.uk/sport/football/news/town-team-news-16256519
