There are a few threads attracting debate about how well the Town will do this season. And of course the SP Prediction thread. But for those who don't want to pay a fiver to answer 20 other questions about the colour of Mickey Mellon's underpants etc, here's a thread purely to predict our final position come the end of the season.
Me, I reckon 17th. There is a lot of optimism based on the PSF games but I still feel it will be something of a struggle. Hope I am wrong and we end up surprising everyone.
Your thoughts?

Something in the teens - some players will improve team but I'm sure a few will be duffers and I'm worried defensively. Also, iif we start too well, I think Hurst will have many admirers from championship strugglers come October/November. I'll go for 16th

14th.
A lot hinges on the likes of Henderson,Jules,B.Morris,James and C.Morris living up to their potential.
My concerns are with the inexperienced forward line.

Hurst mentioned yesterday about bringing two more in - but won't rush for now. I wonder if he'll strengthen with a bit more experienced after 2/3 games when he'll have a better understanding of the squad. I'm predicting 14th.

I will say 16th but as we have so many unproven young players we may end up surprising and finishing a lot higher than that if they gel and improve through the season.

Good point about the younger players improving during the season. They may not hit the ground running immediately and we may need to be patient. But still need points / wins to prevent us being stuck in the bottom 4.

This may be optimism, but a solid 12th place finish would leave me delighted.

There is a lot of optimism based on the PSF games "PSF games"? Is that what the EFL tell us to call friendlies now?!

I think 9th position with one of the best goals against columns in the division. Perhaps a lack of goals and too many draws will prevent us mounting a sustained push for the play-offs. It will be a tougher league than last year with very strong teams coming down and the promoted teams all look capable of staying up. Really looking forward to a season we can be proud of.

I refuse to use 'EFL' though. They should be a bit like British stamps - we're the only country that doesn't need to put their name on them coz we wuz first! So just "the Football League" will do for me...

This time last year I felt nothing but doom on the horizon. I think we have a squad capable of at least a 9 point improvement over last season which would put us up around 15th.

19th..apart from Gillingham, AFC Wimbledon, Oldham, Blackpool and maybe Walsall it's difficult to see who else will finish below us. Iets hope that you are pleasantly surprised. For me an improvement on our best league 1 points tally is needed. This is to break the cycle of doom. If not Roland will be in for another verbal kicking for doing everything thing on the cheap (which is probably not the case) Now if it does all go wrong how can we pacified this time? Will we get a bar or even toilets seats

You're right. It takes as long to say "EFL" as it does "Football League" - both are 3 syllables. So ...... why? Granted it's quicker to write but that's the only excuse - and only then if you've got a train to catch or summat.

19th..apart from Gillingham, AFC Wimbledon, Oldham, Blackpool and maybe Walsall it's difficult to see who else will finish below us. Well, we're 21st in the alphabetical table so let's hope we can improve on that! I don't really see why it's difficult to see us finishing above, for example, tomorrow's opponents, Northampton. That's not a prediction but I can't see why it should be such a stretch. Do they have a good squad? Do Rochdale? Bristol Rovers? I've no idea. There's rarely much to choose between most teams in this league. I doubt that many had Port Vale, Swindon, Chesterfield and Coventry as their four to go down last season ...

1st We will romp this division with a record points tally and a core of young superstars willing to commit to the club for another 5 years, happy to dismiss interest from City, Madrid and PSG because...well...they love us.

Got a new squad have a feeling that in going to be a massive learning curve for team, as most of them haven't played in this division. If we get a good start then its going to be a bonus.
Can we all not start to panic before Christmas, PH will sort us out.
Until PH keeps saying the same things in interviews he has my 100% trust, MM lost my trust saying the same things every week and not fixing them.
My prediction is 15th

Nice comment. Agree with this. Don't think we shall concede many as well and don't think we shall be beating too many team by a 2 goal margin Lots of 1-0, 0-1, ,1-1 , 2-1, 1-2 etc
