Hope we get as many as possible to the GM next Saturday in our final home game of the season.
All depends of course on what happens on Tuesday night but either way would be disappointed if we don't get at least 7k next Saturday. I wonder how many Posh will bring, 500 say?

Afraid not.... too many fickle town fans will come up with many excuses why they don't attend! Ill be there as always together with the faithfull 4500 to 5000 but how many part time fans will be attracted to the game (especialy if we win on Tuesday) will be interesting. I note Gillingham had a few things going on with kids for a quid and ex players from one of their 'winning teams' on the pitch before the game but the powers that be at GM aren't forward thinking enough... Hope I'm proved wrong
One thing we can do without is any kind of end of season celibration either players lap of honour or pitch invasion would be crass

Well next Saturday is a good time for him to start the process. The club should really be promoting this game, as Gillingham did yesterday.

At a push might get up to 6k home fans with it being last home game but that will depend if something is riding on it. If we secure safety on Tuesday then I'd expect around 5,000 home fans

Have to see if he can achieve this before falling out with RW before moving to a job he can't turn down.... Just watching Leicester game perhaps Klackers are his answer? Seems to have had an effect for them this season

Having looked on the Shrewsbury Town Online Ticketing plan where you can select your ticket, we have sold quite a few tickets already, should be a good atmosphere ??

I'd expect a good crowd but nowhere near full. Not sure how big an attraction a relegation fight is to casual supporters but I suspect most would think the job's done already, from looking at the league table. I'd disagree but then I'm not a casual.
Can't see Peterboro bringing too many when their season's just petered out ('scuse pun).
Would help if the bloody weather would warm up!

Whilst I fully agree, offering any form of incentive would cause more backlash by some of the season ticket militant.

Yes, I also emailed Brian Caldwell making the point however that most season ticket holders will have already purchased/renewed their Season Tickets. I acknowledged that realistically an incentive is not going to provided for this game as we are expecting a higher than average attendance anyway.l given the circumstances and PayDay for the vast majority on the Friday. Rather, I made the point that more needs to be done through this week in terms of advertising/promoting the build up to the game to encourage those 'maybe'/occasional fans.

Who are the ST holders kicking off?
I'm a ST holder and would be happy to let people in for £5 if it filled the stadium and got us an antmospher that could roar the lads onto victory.
I'm pretty sure most of us would!

I'm pretty sure most of us would! Me too Glyn. I agree most season ticket holders would be happy to see such an incentive. The odd incentive to get bums on seats should be encouraged and applauded. Especially for such an important game as this.

An idea to help with this is what Ipswich Town have done where for the odd game, season ticket holders can get up to 4 extra tickets at a reduce price. www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/29163/ticket-promotion-at-rotherham-matchThat way, the ST holder can choose what they do with the tickets. You could add an added incentive to the ST holder where for each one used they get a: - further discount of their next season ticket - a discount / voucher for club shop or other a high street / shopping centre outlet - e.g Lidl - free meal at the club restaurant - free parking for next home game - chance to pick the side!

Would imagine Brian Caldwell and Roland are already embroiled in a meeting to come up with some idea to generate a interest in the game ...or maybe not but as fans cant we help? Maybe just promoting it as a retro / colours day by those on Twitter and Facebook may help and you never know the club might even put it up on their site....... PS inflatables worked fairly well at Walsall.... If only the SS would do smomething posative like 'YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOU' headline

Its not just about it being the odd time, its about this specific time, the most important game of the season, with everything on the line and the last home game of the season.
Absolutely a missed opportunity. No press or fan fare about it at all really.
Doncaster Seem to think its a good idea, there last home game is Burton (next weekend) and they have an offer
EXCLUSIVE ticket offer for the Burton game. £15 for adults, £10 concessions and £1 for kids.
Come on is there a ST holder who would object to that?

had a quick reply from Brian just now about the idea I posted above and said something to have a think about for next season. For any ideas, as some have found, he's seems open to suggestions and feedback - email brian.caldwell@shrewsburytown.co.uk
Also asked about generating support for saturday and will be using social media to get the message out there.

I dont have his ear as much as anyone else really, as pointed out he has an email and by all reports has been bang on responding to fans.
Personally I think its to late in the day, I'm aware there are procedures for how many ticket offers you can do a season and you have to book them in in advance with the FA I believe... so might not be anything can be done there anyway.
Nothing stopping the fans declaring this a xxxxx day and running with it. Mabey its something the SP can help with. Will have a word.
Love the idea of inflatables day! That would mental, and also something we could do at the end of every season, like the Hartlepool Fancy dress tradition.
How many would be up for that?

Like I said on another thread about the subject, I'm not sure what is worse, that some of our own season ticket holders are moaning about trying to attract fans or the fact the club would be willing to use that as an excuse Last home game of the season where a win would see us safe, yeah why would we want to promote it to try and attract fans

I don't mind casuals paying a fiver to come in, as long as they don't take my seat, where the water drips steadily on my left shoulder when it rains. They can **** off and find their own roof leak.

I'm as curmudgeonly as any season ticket holder in existence, but I'd have no problems whatsoever with the Club discounting tickets in order to get as near to a full house in the home ends as is possible. It's the most vital game of the season for goodness sake. And I have yet to hear of one season ticket holder who has raised objections. Certainly not on here. So it does indeed seem a lame excuse.

I assume the "season ticket holders kicking off" excuse is the new version of "safety advisory group/police" stopping things and distant cousin of the "we can't use the loggerheads" excuse

ST holders pay their cash up front every season - and as a result (rightly) get a lower price-per-game deal.
Cannot think of anyone who would object to getting new/occasional or young fans in. Any ST holders that do object should be sent to the sesame street school of economics to show them that they get already good deal, this incentive will not affect their deal what so ever, anyone who is willing to PAY to watch us should be welcomed with open arms (hence why I got so wound up about morons of the FB page criticising Man Utd/occasional fans for turning up in the home end during the cup game) and finally without new fans the club WILL die.
