Still should have subbed him. His remark about not subbing every player who gets a yellow card deliberately misses the point. Everyone on that ground was aware that Black was a red card waiting to happen. Other than MM and MJ it would seem.
There are occasions (Luke Rodgers was another example in a game long ago) when you've not got too much time to get them off the field. If you don't, the referee most certainly will.

He made a substitution at Port Vale (Knight-Percival?) because he was on a yellow card.

I'm still more interested in why MM didn't sub a clearly struggling Grandison.

I wonder where the Sloppy Star got that question idea from?? We should try making up the most outrageous story about Town and see if The Star publish it. Such a shame a once decent paper is no longer employing proper journalists just people who parrot what's on a website

I think it's good that Tim Nash asks questions that the fans are asking or talking about. The fact that he gets them from B&A or twitter is neither here nor there. At least we get answers to our concerns from the Mellon's mouth.
It's certainly a better approach than the vacuous questions asked by James Bland / BBC Slopshire.

Every now and then, certainly not each time a player receives a yellow, there are times when you look to a player and think he is going to get himself sent off. By all accounts that is what we saw against Walsall. Would suggest poor management on this occasion.

In hindsight, following the terrible second half conditions against the Gills, it's no wonder the players tired against Walsall.

I thought the squad might've been rotated a bit, with Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday games, and not using a single sub against Gillingham. After all, were always being told that it's a squad of first team players. Incidentally, there can't be many games these days where neither team use a sub, as neither us or Gillingham did.

What did you guys make of Henry? He's being followed by near enough every PL team and without a shadow of doubt will be England's future LB/LM. Defensively he can be beaten but those 3 runs he did Tuesday were breathtaking, especially the one on the first half were he just went past 2 or 3 of your guys like they were not there and the desire to run 60 yards from LB to almost CF position the lay on the 3rd goal was stunning and he's only 18. Without any hesitation this kid is the best thing to ever come through our youth system and if we get anything less than 2.5 million with add ons and a loan back we will be robbed. Very impressed. Thought he looked very lightweight for a defender, but on second thoughts the position of full- back is not all about brute strength and kicking people. His first run was superb, I found myself , for a split second, hoping that he would accept the return pass and go on and score. It was that good, and I make no apologies for my comments to anyone, it would have been a pleasure to see n pure football terns. Obviously I also wanted us to score one more goal than your lot. I think you are living in cloud cuckoo land if you think you will get a sniff of 2.5million. Big clubs will come in, offer you just enough to excite you which will be well south of what you have wanted, but more than you have seen before, and you will fold, bare your arse and get well shafted. It happens all the time. Yes, you will be robbed. Good player, hope he stays injury free. Thought I would share this with you, from Saturdays FA Cup tie against Chesterfield.
