Purchased both the home and away strip from the shop today.
However, I have to say this was despite the attitude displayed by the guy in charge, who seemed far more preoccupied with his computer than being customer friendly. His attitude was more or less 'sort out what you want, we've only got what you see on display, pay for it when ready'. Very poor customer relations.

What do you want him to do? Model it for you?

Wasn't Scott Vernon that served you by any chance?

What do you want him to do? I believe it's called common courtesy...

Nothing wrong with highlighting poor customer service! Why the sarcastic comments? If the staff look disinterested the customer will probably not come back.

What do you want him to do? I believe it's called common courtesy... Precisely. There are enough others out there looking for jobs. His attitude was very similar to that lady in the ticket office last year with whom a number had dealings, myself included. Everything was too much trouble. Is she still with us by the way?

The shirts are about 3 feet away from the counter with a choice of 2 designs, home and away. Pick your size, take it to the desk and pay.
I genuinely can't see what else he can do to serve someone. In my experiences both Sib and Simon in the shop have been great.

Make the customer interested in and buy items he / she had no intention of acquiring when they walked in .

In my experiences both Sib and Simon in the shop have been great. You miss the point. That's exactly what I did. But 'great' is certainly not the word I'd use to describe his overall attitude. I did ask him a couple of questions about trying the shirts on and whether other sizes were available other than what was exhibited regarding other merchandise at the back of the shop. Although I got answers, they were delivered in a manner which suggested I was being an irritant. My wife was with me at the time, and she picked this up as well. Certainly no evidence of the art of salesmanship!

Nothing wrong with pointing it out, but utterly worthless if you don't contact the club about it as hey cant action anything about improving service standards without knowing there is an issue.

You are quickly turning into the new ShrewsEd.
Cheer up, you've got your replica kits. Enjoy the moment.
Just wait till you put them through the wash.....

As allegedly RW gets his minions to trawl through everything said on blue and amber, I'm sure that this issue will very quickly be known about.

Yes, I noticed someone saying that there were problems washing the shirts. It was raised on another thread. However, as most have said they've been fine then I'm willing to take the chance. S.14 of the Sale of Goods Act would come to my rescue anyway..goods have to be of satisfactory quality and reasonably fit for purpose made known.

never had a problem with staff at either club or Darwin centre. both Si and Sib switched on with customers. perhaps someone else needs to learn that "customers make pay days possible"!

Must have got one of them on a bad day then. Incidentally, like stuttgartershrew I'm amazed that so many know them by their 1st names! You must spend a lot of time in the shop and/or the Darwin Centre to be on 1st name terms.

After going in there numerous times during the 8 years they've been open they know me, yes. Shows excellent customer service eh? If the OP tried sending the complaint to clubshop@shrewsburytown.co.uk rather than post on a messageboard then it would probably be more understandable though and look less like whinging.

In a small Club like ours it's hardly surprising that other fans know their names.

Horses for courses I guess. I don't want someone toadying around me when I'm buying stuff. Be there if I need you, if not then sod off and leave me alone. Don't need a salesman to tell me what I want to buy.
If he was rude or impolite then fine, a complaint to the club is justified, otherwise I'm at a loss as to what you hope to achieve by starting a thread about it on here?

Nothing worse than a salesperson 'following' you around a store, quite bad at that in Spain to be honest I've noticed!

I notice in tonight's Sloppie Star there is an article about the passing of ex Town winger Brian Taylor. They are obviously still trolling Blue and Amber as they have used a quote attributed to someone called "Northwestmam Conference".

Really!!!
That's gold if they did that...
Northwestman.... fine...
But conference is just his "Posting level" on B and A
That paper gets worse and worse!!!!!!!
LOL

I just think its hardly surprising that someone who knows the people in the club shop put the customer service down as 'great'. Just think they're hardly going to say anything else...

As you know them by name maybe because they know you? After going in there numerous times during the 8 years they've been open they know me, yes. Shows excellent customer service eh? Well no. Not really. Not if someone who hardly goes in there comes out of the shop feeling they were a hindrance to someones high score at candy crush. I've not been in there for years so have no idea. Just thought I would chip in when you asked what more do you want him to do. I said common courtesy. You said you get that. I said it was because you might kinda know them. You say its because you have been going in there for 8 years regular. I think most folk would hope they extend that to anyone who ventures in there... Anyhows, much a do about Nothing. Maybe he just caught them at the wrong time. Perhaps a particularity tricky tetris level...

As stated on the label,
Don't wash over 30 degrees Don't use softener Don't tumble dry
And shirts will be fine apparently
