Pie Idol Date - 1st June 2015 (Monday) Venue - Shrewsbury Town Football Club (In the Sovereign Club) Time - 7.30pm All The next Supporters Parliament Meeting (that’s open to ALL) will be a special meeting which we are encouraging as many fans as possible to attend. On the 1st of June at 7pm the football club wants as many people as possible to come down to the meeting and first off try some pies from three manufactures and then take part in a vote to decide who will be doing out pies going forward. Quite a responsibility for the fans this one!!! The meeting will then move onto catering in general, as this is coming in house there will be lots to discuss on what will and wont be on offer Woods Brewery will also be there, and there is a chance to select the official beer and name of beer going forward. More details about how this will be done later. Great to know Woods are being retained in the new catering set up and really keen to engage with fans over what they want. Finally following all the food and drink we get the chance to sit down with Matt Williams and chat though all the questions and comments we have, get his regular feedback on the direction the club is taking and then sort out any SP business. It’s a great chance to get down and try some pies, talk about beer, but also see how these meetings are run. Matt will likely be open and frank as usual and you do get a great insight to the club and the way in which the SP is representing the fans. If your coming along can you say so on this thread just so it can help build up and idea of the pies required! If you don’t come then I will do my best on behalf of B and A to demolish as many as possible. Either way I’m voting for baguettes

More excellent work from our CEO. He really has transformed our club by listening to the supporters.

As regards the beer, the Wood family have been staunch supporters of STFC for many, many years. I can remember the late Charles Wood attending games.

Pie idol is a great idea. More excellent work from the club. Looking forward to this event. Hopefully many will turn up. It's nice to have our ideas listened to. My choice of a name for the beer is Loggerheads

This could be a record SP attendance, and I also plan to attend this important event! .only because you want Roland to get some posh coffee in, in time for when you're next invited for another chat in the boardroom.

As always I shall be in attendance with Rachael and my father will be popping down to see what we've been on about, the idea of selecting or at least having a major influence on what we as supporters want is fantastic

Ludlow Gold 4.2, a great drink, also Hobsons Town Crier from Cleobury Mortimer 3 Tuns from the Caaastle as examples. there must be 2 or 3 dozen different shroppy ales on draught. just across border is Bathams of Brierly Hill, and Herefordshire Wye Valley Butty Bach is delicious. use a Woods as permanent Ale but rotate guest ales and not forgetting a Shropshire BeerFest which if published thru Camra would pull punters in and make money for the club. Come on Matt what are we waiting for? have a Barbecue as well. Beer £3.20 a pint. Hot Dogs, Bacon Rolls £4 each. £5 entrance includes souvenir half pint loggerheads glass and first half. remaining glasses to go on sale in shop. yes a bit expensive but what a great cause and a great night or better, what a great weekend.

If these breweries are willing to invest in the club financially to the same extent as Edward Wood, I don't have a problem with it. Woods have a history of sponsoring STFC over a number of years. When I come across their beers, I drink it.
It's a 2 way thing.

The winner was Wrights from Crewe who supply Jenny's, so same pies as previous seasons, which I am personally happy with. A very good evening eating yummy pies!

Little bit disappointing we couldn't have found a Shropshire supplier to provide the club with pies for the coming season, all those on test seemed to be from outside the county, and the winner is going to drive them from Crewe every match day.
Guess it comes down to costs but there are some great food producers in Shropshire and it would be nice to have some of their food on sale at the ground
