I don't miss doing exams - I remember the stress. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!!!! Invigilating exams is also very boring - I normally look at the papers and try and have a go at doing them - it's amazing how quickly you forget things!!!!! 12 years since I did my GCSE's and the only one I could pass now is the French and German one, coz I teach that!!!

Amy has one tomorrow (Sat) at 4pm!! What sad demented tutor thought that up? Clearly not a football fan! She'll be at the Match though - hopefully in her new Retro shirt - if Shakey's delivery arrive tomorrow!

All the best to all of you.
A lot of my students from the Dyslexia centre and the school have GCSE or Key stage 2 and 3 SATS. I've been helping supervise some Key Stage 1 Sats this week. I really feel for them- they're only 7- and one little girl said she felt sick. It's not so bad at 11- we used to have the 11 plus. Seven is too young, though.
They say the children don't know they're doing tests- what rubbish! Both teachers and parents get really stressed about it; teachers because results are used to judge the school - and parents, because they're frightened that their children may be lower than average.
I've gone off at a tangent, as usual! All the very best to all of you doing exams. The more exams you do, I think, the calmer you get; you learn "exam techniques". Mine used to be - if you had to answer four questions, for example- pick the three you know you can do- do those first. The dodgy one, leave till last- and you might just be able to "waffle" a bit and get away with it - especially if you use plenty of quotes!

Good luck folks.
But if you do make a mistake - please make it a funny one as it breaks up the repetition of marking!
"Maggots are found deep in dead boys"
"Homozygous genes are found in homosexuals"
"One method of birth control is a feather"
"You can tell the difference between a living and non-living item by whether it moves or not. Unless it's asleep, or dead. If it's dead it's non-living, even if it was. Perhaps that wasn't a good example!"
