I've just bought an i-River 40GB MP3 Jukebox player (which from all the reviews I read beforehand is the dogs bits & miles better than the i-Pod).
However, I now need to start the daunting task of conevrting my CD collection into MP3 format (this iRiver holds '000's & '000's of songs). Knowing that we have a number of tech wizards within the B&A Community, does anyone know of any good free software that can be downloaded to convert CDs into MP3 format, so I can then transfer them over to this player?
I've had a quick "Google" and found over 300,000 pages which is very helpful. Most of those that I've looked at on the first few pages are US sites and all involve buying packages which I'm trying to avoid. The only free one I have found so far appears to be dBpowerAMP.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Many thanks.

Don't you get the software with it? My daughter's Rio MP3 came with software that let you convert any music files on your hard drive to MP3 so you could then load it to the player. That way you can simply upload CD music onto your PC e.g with Windows Media player, then off you go.
