Why would they think it will be a walkover?
Some of their fans might but I bet the players and manager don't.

Because they haven't lost for 6 months

I think that the most important thing is to stay behind EVERY Town player for the whole game and not start getting on anyones back if they make a mistake. Conversely we need to be getting on the back of every Chelsea player and forcing them to make mistakes. We really can be the 12th man tonight and with so many 'tourists' in the home sections we need to get them joining in and drown out any vocal support that Chelsea are getting. Going with my heart (my head isn't worth listening to at the best of times) for a Salop win COYB

glory hunters ruin the atmosphere, they don't know the songs and are not that interested, hopefully the singers are scattered around all over the place and we get an atmosphere like Leicester away and not like some of the flat ones we have had.

Because they haven't lost for 6 months They didn't play a game for three of them! The 6 months thing is just a way of hyping up "unbeaten so far this season". But I agree about the need for noise.

Atmosphere for Norwich was fairly good. Even had a Norwich fan I was with say so.

Would you prefer a half empty stadium and less cash for the club? The Leicester atmosphere was great but it was the roar of the 1,100 getting behind the players that made it, much more than any singing. "Glory hunters" is for football snobs. There might be new fans in those "glory hunters" and even they can pick up the words of "Salop, Salop", "come on you blues" or even "MM's barmy army"!

I was going to use the words part timers but then I thought they are the ones that come part of the time so I decided on the word glory hunters, the people that are there to see Chelsea and don't care about our club these are not really potential new fans and they will hinder the atmosphere.
Look at Wembley for example the atmosphere was dead in our play off finals because there was to my glory hunters.
I am glad they are coming because it makes the club i love money but that is the only reason.

...please tell me you're not one of those dullards who sings 'part timers, part timers' at our own crowd during every big game we have? It's not big and it's not clever. Get that massive chip off your shoulder, welcome the new people to our ground, and just embrace the big cup moment

If people could keep the noise down during the Golden Gamble draw I'd appreciate it. 25 years of buying a ticket and never won but I'm convinced tonight's the night for a big win!!

I only get to 3 or 4 games a season these days, so you could possibly count me among the glory hunters, but seeing as I've done the Tuesday night trips to Scarborough, Rochdale and Carlise, weekenders in London, Blackpool and Torquay and most points in between I'd have to disagree.
Everyone should be welcomed, if we can turn even one 'glory hunter' into a regular supporter then I would regard that as a success.

I don't mind the glory hunters coming the fuller the ground the better but it will do nothing for the atmosphere.

Assuming we have a sell out due to glory hunters is a bit harsh, I know of loads of town supporters who can't make every game for one thing or another. There's loads of kids who can't make usual night matches because of school the next day, this week it's half term. Yes there will be glory hunters but fewer than your implying IMHO.

''Tourist's'', ''Glory Hunters''. This is just another way of saying ''I'm a better fan than you'' by arrogant pricks possibly very single Men without other things to do in life. I recognised most as being there before many go when they can and pick and choose there games it's just that last night they all wanted to go to the same match. And Football throughout the history of the game has always attracted a bigger crowd when the opposition is more famous. It's not a new thing!! I used to go more regularly but when your Kid's start playing on Saturdays and gets selected for a Big Academy side free Saturday's become rare and I would never choose watching a game in the stands to playing it for real. I sat in Block 16 as it was only a £3 mark up as opposed to a £5 one in the rest of the stadium and personally I do hope I p**sed off some there by ''Sitting in their seat''.

Tend to agree with your sentiments. Some of the comments on here and particularly on facebook made me quite happy to watch the match on Sky rather than get tickets. We go when we can. Some aways and a few homes each year. And frankly don't think I'm 'fairweather' because of it. Football has to fit my life, not the other way round. I resent the thought of being looked on by regular home fans as some sort of 'tourist' because they don't recognise me from the week before. Obviously my lads would have loved to get tickets and go last night, one of the few chances to see us against genuinely top class opposition. They were decked out in their blue and amber last night and as passionate in their support despite never living in the county!

That wasn't what you were saying yesterday Pughy, when suggesting that the glory hunters would dilute the atmosphere.

You often hear about a Fan who has attended every game since 1923 at first I think wow that's pretty hardcore. Then I think how on earth could you do that without ever neglecting other parts of your Family life? I couldn't do it without missing a part of my Family's life in a season let alone 80 years. They must have a very understanding Partner and/or a Job that is very flexible.
