Well well well I'm utterly delighted with this. It a week to get things "approved" but seriously this validates EVERYTHING the Supporters Parliament can achieve, its really validates the whole thing. On the first meeting we had it was agenda point number one, our "big thing" to sort, and everyone who's been involved since then should be proud we got this far. Credit to too, without there work over the last few years, it would not be front and center, and they deserve massive credit for persisting when at times, the abuse was abundant. Massive Credit to Martin James for starting the whole process with the SP, and his tireless work getting everything with the vote off the ground. Massive credit to Matt Williams for running with it, and for showing hes a true football man who understand fans. Honestly this cant be underestimated. Massive credit to Roger and Mike as the SP chairs, at times, it might seem like i'm the voice on the SP (on here), but these guys have done all the work behind the sceans with the club and must always be remembered as two of the guys who pushed this on and on. last but not least, fair play Roland, you saw this through, gave us a mandate, got a result and have gone with it. Cant say fairer than that. If we get promoted on the last day of this season with a new badge sorted and plenty of other improvements since the end of last season, how can ANYONE complain? I could not be happier that we WILL have a loggerheads crest back, and it will be one fans play a massive part in choosing. Its going to be great to be involved in the process too. If you want to be involved in things going forawrd get along to our next meeting, its open and we want the SP to grow. This is just the start, we have plenty more to work on now this is starting to be resolved. A great day to be a town fan!

What next, another Liam Boyce rumour? Too right there. Patience is a virtue & look what has happen! BUT there is still a lot to do & the SP ain't finished yet and shows that it can work and that all we need is people to get involved MORE in it too

Understand completely why he wanted to change the badge, don't agree with the way that Roland went about it. It is such a shame that his actions caused such a large movement of anger against someone who loves our club equally as much as we do.
Anyway, how good would it be to have the unveiling of the badge at the stadium. Get as many fans into the ground and reveal the badge on the screen...

Massive credit to Matt Williams for running with it, and for showing hes a true football man who understand fans. Honestly this cant be underestimated. No idea just how much influence he may have had on the clubs decision but when looking to the clubs announcement... Town Chief Executive Matt Williams said: “It's no secret that the Chairman has been a Town supporter all his life and it has been abundantly clear to me during my first few months here that he always wants the best for the Club and the business.
“He acknowledges supporter feeling on the badge issue and is also optimistic that changing the badge will be good for business in terms of brand loyalty and merchandise revenue. "...I get the impression he might well have played a significant part. What a start for the lad...

Well to everyone who voted and to all those that pushed this forward. Lets hope the club can now get the kit suppliers to buck their ideas up and get the stock in for the start of next season. The club shop is going to be very, very busy.

Congratulations to ALL involved in making this happen. I'm sure it's been a long and at times tiresome journey to get to this stage?!
Now it's up to us as fans to choose a definitive badge, that truly represents what Shrewsbury Town Football Club stands for. A badge that can continue to build on the existing heritage and history of our great club. A badge that without needing to look at the name, people instantly recognise as Shrewsbury Town!! A badge we can be proud of!
Our badge......

shrewsTRUST will issue a statement in due course, but I just wanted to say a few words. Today is a victory for common sense. Today is a victory for those that have wanted change. But today. More importantly is a day of victory for the Shrewsbury Town collective as a whole. We are going to get the chance to vote for our badge. In the 128 year history of our club, no Town fan will ever have had the opportunity. So Mr Chairman, you are going to go down in history as the man who made that decision, and for that I am eternally grateful, and Mr Wycherley, you should be very proud. This has never been about wanting to stick one on the Chairman, or the club. This has been about saying to the club, "look you got this wrong. Let's us help you put this right". The have had their critics, and even they would admit at times, there style has been abrasive. But they have matured, and actually Geoff and Justin, take a bow, because your skills in the future will be a massive help to helping Shrewsbury Town progress. Back in the 90's I was part of the A Large Scotch fanzine that campaigned for the return of the Loggerheads badge and Blue and Amber club colours. We were told it couldn't happen . There was no interest from the club and fan base. We were troublemakers. Yet when we did a poll, 80% wanted those items back. Within two years they were, with record shirt sales. Back in the "naughtiest", we were told that the football club couldn't have a new ground. We were told there was no interest within the town. Actually the town didn't want a football club! But we went out and got two 3000 name petitions that said they did. And comfortably won a vote of opinion on whether we should move. And here today, we are in our eighth season at GM. We have to ask ourselves why the established Supporters Groups (of which I include shrewsTRUST as one), weren't at the forefront of the campaign. We have to ask ourselves 'are we listening enough to the fan base of there wants and needs'. Rather than thinking about our own positions in some eluded supporters hierarchy. We have to ask difficult questions. We have to be prepared to ask them. We have to provide solutions. I'm very proud that my colleagues at shrewsTRUST, Roger Groves and Mike Davis the decision to lead with setting up of the Supporters Parliament. Not just to include the established groups, but individuals who aren't aligned to any group. Because at present the amount of members of the established groups is less than the yes vote for the badge change. We can't just slag off another group because they are perceived as trouble makers (just because they are asking those challenging questions and coming up with solutions the fan base want). Or state that basically that they don't care about the badge on the shirt in fact, it could be Mary Poppins as far as they are concerned and dismiss anyone who has the opposite view. If you are going to claim to represent the fan base that is what you do! If not, the continuing decline of supporters not involved with supporters groups will carry on At a time when football activism is on the increase, all the established groups have to work harder, smarter, and communicate more with the fan base. We can't just react to an enquiry about "what your group does" with a list of events, and 'go on our website'. We have to talk, listen, and forward concerns of the fan base, with solutions. I'm pleased that the Supporters Parliament is giving those not members of established groups the chance to do this. So finally, let's us all saviour the announcement. Look forward to the design choices and voting for your favourite. Look forward to returning to the club shop and buying items with the new logo on. Everyone's a winner. Shrewsbury Town is the winner. Great news to come home too! Taken far far to long to get to this point but glad were there now. Just need to make sure the new badge is professionally put together and something we can all identify with
Can finally stop wasting my cash on friends and family and invest the money on a shed load of loggerheads merchandise at the club shop. Well done to all involved in giving us our identity back
