That was for Tranmere wasn't it? He'll be 36 in September though.

That's a bit Opty Mystic. I doubt he'll get anywhere near that many all season. Poor bet.

Stuck a wad on us lifting the title at 11/1 this season.
Confident we have the squad to get us up. Are we good enough to lift the title?
Remains to be seen but we certainly have the best squad in the division. If MM can get us playing/gelling then I think anything is possible.

Bet he scores against Town though. I read that he had a year left on his contract but wanted an extension. Tranmere weren't prepared to agree to one for a 35 year old striker. When Bury came in with an excellent offer, they were happy to let him go. Bury almost went under a year ago but a new chairman came in with a vision for the future and a big wallet.

He can have a bigger wad than John Holmes but L2 club's can only spend a % of turnover on Wages, owners investment not included

Our odds will shorten more when our next 2 signings are announced. Danny Rose and Paddy McCourt. On paper we have a squad that will walk this league, whether that materialises who knows.

And your Shrewsbury. I wasn't bigging things up, just stating what a lot of people think in that we have the best squad in this league, but nothing is a given

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danny_Rose_(footballer,_born_1990) This Danny Rose(20 games for Spurs last year)?Does your new owner have a short memory? If Bury got into trouble financially by trying too maintain a small L2 squad how on earth is he going to sustain this within FFP rules?

I wish it was that Danny Rose. The lad in question is the young striker at Barnsley, we had him on loan at the end of last season and the boy is destined for big things. Scored 3 in 6 mainly from the subs bench, and with Lowe and Nardiello along side him you could be looking at 50+ goals from 3 players

You're 3rd in the alphabetical table. Enjoy the moment.

We all need to be cautious. Great teams on paper doesn't guarantee success.

Its all ifs and buts for every team. 1 thing for sure is that there are about 5 very strong teams in the league and your lot is 1 off them.

I've always thought it would be between us and you for the title. Flircroft has made some good signings at Bury and I really rate him as a manager. Yes Luton destroyed the conference but the step up is huge plus they have lost their best player in Andre Gray. Portsmouth are another team but I think their big name means people overestimate them a bit. On paper we seem strong but they're all new players that need to get to know each other, if they gel quickly then I am expecting good things.

I'm not sure if the gap between the Conf and L2 has widened I reckon it's closing, and quite often club's make a double promotion and I rarely see one struggle soon after promotion.

Quite right throbs, they will be back to square one before too long.they can't sign all those players, and pay decent wages on the crowds they are getting,Christ, Shrewsbury get more in the west stand than bury do for a home game

2 more players that a training with us with a view to sign are Joe Thompson and Thomas Cywka.John Whittaker is reportedly the money man behind and im sure there are ways around the FFP like naming rights for your ground

Hi there Shrews fans. Bury fan in peace, just to let you know our signings from January 2014 onwards is as follows. (We had a mini clearout of deadwood in Jan) Jim McNulty Pablo Mills Danny Nardiello Andrew Tutte Nicky Adams Ryan Lowe Chris Hussey Kelvin Etuhu Shwan Jalal Kiel O'Brein Danny Mayor So yeah, quite a few signings , all but two have come from either L1 or the Championship. We had a strong end to last season after we reshaped our squad and we ended up finishing in the top half and even had a chance of the playoffs at one stage. Our end of season form coupled with numerous good signings has naturally seen us amongst the favourites for the title. For what it's worth Shrewsbury have also mustered a strong squad and I expect you to be a tough competitor in the title race. I can't see us winning the title to be honest but I'm confident of a top 3 finish.

In fairness tbh, he said on paper and added who knows what will happen.
Give him a break!

5/6 Top 7 finish. No such thing as a cert but looks the nearest to such a thing if ever there was 1.

Chelsea to win the Premier League with Shrewsbury, Cardiff, Preston and Forest Green all to be promoted is 400/1.
Worth £50 I reckon.
