Thanks and good luck to him, but simply not good enough for stfc, onwards and upwards with a fresh new striker to replace him

A good day for him and his agent.
I just hope we put enough zeros on how much we asked for!

Oh well. Hard to be overly bothered either way really. I know he's showed promise at times, but far from a cast iron success for the future.

I have been saying for a couple of years that I would happily release him for just a solitary zero. Similar to Jon Taylor I reckon - take the money and spend most of the time on the bench. Still, good luck to them both.

Good riddance, wasn't good enough for a crap league 1 side last season so hardly going to get a kick in a better team.

Great move for Bradshaw,Walsall and us if a fees involved. But for the amount of games he played last year, to score 7 was really good. If they play him with the right players and give him a good run in the side I think he will do well and prove a lot of people wrong. Good look Tom so much for a team built round Shrewsbury's young home grown players.

Good swap for westcarr

I think it's a pretty safe bet that Westcarr will play more games and score more goals for Portsmouth, than Bradshaw will for the g***s.

Disappointed by this news.
Tom Bradshaw - 42 starts 17 goals, a very decent return for a 21 year old striker.
Some fans expected a 21 year old striker to be the finished article and had very unrealistic expectations.
The way we played him as a lone striker then hoofing the ball to his head was never going to help him out.
A great move for him as Walsall will play the ball on the deck and this one WILL come back to haunt us.
I don't blame him for moving and he will get a warm reception from me if he comes back plus I liked it when he ditched Wales u21s to help us out.

17 goals in 98 appearances for us.. I never truly understood the comments some have of he will get goals... he will get goals i guess, just not many over and over a really long period of time. Just had a look and last season it were 7 goals in 28 appearances and I gather one or two of them were from the bench (anyone have any idea how many games he started last season)? And that were playing in a pretty awful side, struggling against relegation and creating next to nothing. I look at 7 goals in 28 and all things considered that ain't bad. Not bad at all. I can certainly understand why someone would take a punt on him. Anyhows, good luck to the lad...

I've always thought that Bradshaw will forge a professional career as a competent lower league striker, and I still do, but I'm not overly bothered that it won't be here.
He works hard, and does have a half-decent scorer's instinct, but his all round game is sorely lacking in aspects which I now feel he is too late in development to ever truly excel at (first touch, passing, dribbling, etc), and most of the time he just isn't very exciting to watch.
I have nothing against him though, and his attitude seems to have been good in the face of considerable adversity, so good luck to him. Not to Walsall though.

But how many off his appearances were 3 minute cameos off the bench? Walsall is an ideal club for him and I don't blame him for moving.

A good move for all concerned, and as we've picked up a fee of some description, another fillip for our investment in our youth structure and academy.
As others have alluded too I think Bradders still has a lot of potential, and it will be interesting how he responds in an entirely new environment at Walsall. Whilst he usually worked hard for us on the pitch and is a decent finisher, I sometimes found myself questioning whether he has a "strikers attitude" and his strength of determination to win, which I guess will ultimately have a bearing on how successful a career he will have. It will be interesting to see.

Seven goals last season, how many in two and a half years? Nowhere near enough. Also how many sitters has he missed? Several, and that's being kind. Time will tell, but if he is a regular starter for the g***s, they may well follow us down, because he won't score enough to keep them up.

If he had stayed, he would be 3rd choice (possibly 4th) to start so would have ended up warming the bench for most of the time. Perhaps Walsall have guaranteed him more starts?

So that makes wildig our longest serving player? Gradison I believe (Or Goldson if he resigns?) Yes, good to clear out the old timers (Taylor and Bradshaw). Time for the youngsters. If there were awards for the youngest longest serving players we'd surely have swept the board in recent years.

good move for him - two year deal in league one.
Very intrigued to see how he gets on. As others have said he did ok in a pretty poor team that didn't create much last season.
Although those two goals right at the end of the season definitely did help out his stats.

Walsall fan coming in peace. Thought I would do some research on our new signing Bradshaw. It seems that there are mixed reactions to his departure although I think we have got ourselves a bargain as I have heard on the grapevine that we got him on a free due to an admin error on his contract. I am sure our more refined style of football will suit Bradshaw rather than the hoof it up front style he is used to.

An admin error on his contact! That better not be true..... Indeed or I just might go into orbit!! However, looking on the Walsall site, it talks about a 'deal' with Shrewsbury so the contract comment may be just a rumour.

However, looking on the Walsall site, it talks about a 'deal' with Shrewsbury so the contract comment may be just a rumour. Both sides said/implied that there was a fee and I can't see why Walsall would say so if they hadn't paid one. It would have to be a pretty significant admin error to negate football league rules on compensation, in any case.
