keep or get rid? for me I would keep for another year. I Believe with a run of games and some confidence the lad could be a good player.

He needs a goal, he keeps showing little glimmers and there is clearly a good player in there somewhere but he hasn't shown it enough this season. I'd be tempted to offer him a 1 year contract also. However, I'd like to see 3 new strikers brought in too.

Indeed, lots of through balls and we hoofed it a lot less, it was like watching last years style of play a bit more.

He would look much, much better alongside a big target man who can flick headers on in behind to take advantage of his pace.
and Bradshaw won more headers in the first half today than Morgan has all season.

Was hoping i was not the only one to notice that, First half was as bad as we have seen all season, second half will take some beating, definately a game of 2 halves!!

If he stays he's 4th choice, 3rd choice at best? Is that really good for him personally and his own career? Like Leslie he kept getting another chance because there is something in there somewhere but he's not brought it to the plate when he gets opportunities often enough. They're were a few glimpses tonight of player in there but you'd expect that playing against an Oldham team tonight who looked poor in a game played with pre season friendly feel too it for the majority. It allowed even Wildig the space and time to look half decent too. Against good teams next season we need better

Bit of a tricky one. Can't honestly see Bradshaw being a first choice League One striker next season - but think he does need games to get confidence and some game time
Maybe a years deal and look to get him 2/3 months loan in the conference then get him back and see how he goes post Christmas

This has truly been an awful season, and if we are going to avoid the same dire unentertaining excuse for football then we must obtain better. Get rid!

Tough one really to base it on tonight's game. I think he needs more strength and he does seem to be afraid to hit the ball. He looked like a nuisance though, however when he gets games he seems to go off the boil.

I could probably turn up and put in a half decent performance in a game that means nothing to either side.
Failed to stand up and be counted when we only had two fit strikers on our books earlier in the season. No goals all year speaks volumes. Get rid.

based on tonights display where the team actively tried playing balls to HIM and not into space 5 miles away, i'd give him another go next season. As some have said above, a target man alongside him could benefit him and the team greatly. He gave oldham's cb a torrid time showing strength and desire he hasn't shown in a while.
As this was a meaningless game however, hopefully it's not just a blip.

He's only 20 years old and its not like he is going to be a top earner at the club. What harm could it do to give a young striker ,with potential, a new contract? I think any contract offered to him would be accepted instantly by him.
Give him a new contract and loan him out for a few months to a league 2/blue square prem team, give him some confidence and who knows?
I agree he has had a pretty poor season but what do you expect a young striker to do in 15 minute cameos and the occasional start?

I agree with your post but the obvious answer to your question is "score". Crawley away being a great example.

He needs a big striker alongside, and maybe add a stone in weight, very light and easily brushed off the ball, so perhaps another year or spell on loan to build up his confidence. The Board can keep a bit of money back for the elusive Target man we need permanantly.

He did reasonably well last night but his main objective is to score and he never looked likely to do that. I have a feeling that if Morgan had played last night he would have scored, particularly with Oldham's cumbersome central defence.

oh ye of little faith, i have been singing his praises all season in the reserves, just waiting for him to get a chance, he now belatedly has that chance.
yes he needs an experienced goal getter alongside, someone like, and i will mention his name again, jamie cureton of exeter, 39 and 25 goals, and now out of contract. just look forward 4 months and imagine our much maligned young tom alongside an experienced goal getter. if young tom makes 20 assists, we should all be grateful.

I would keep Bradshaw for at least another season, thought he played well last night.
Also, I have to say that i thought favorite John Taylor was poor, looking to show boat in his own interest and not, plus a shocking miss where he tried to round the keeper. We wont be seeing him in a Town shirt next season, so more reason to try and get Duffy from Sc***horpe

As a striker I'll judge him on goals and this season he's scored.....
I don't buy into 'if we bring in an experienced goal scorer he'll flourish' comment. If anything it would allow to hide more.
As for bringing in an experienced goal scorer.... Get in line. Us and every other lower league club will be after one of them this summer!

Ok, Tom Bradshaw is no lionel messi, He is a young inexperienced striker that has had a tough season. He has been thrown into games where we play to a style that does not suit him and he has always been safe in the knowledge that 1 mistake will condem him to the reserves for a long period. Lets be honest, the only reason he has started the last 2 games is because we only have 2 strikers. And if we could have loaned another, probably some 16 year old from West Brom, he would not even be on the bench. However, last night we p[layed some passing footvball on the ground, and to his feet, he got into some good positions, dhe terrorised the centre backs, and did a half decent job. Will be nice to see him given the same on Saturday. For me, with some quality around him, i feel he is one of the brighter stars for STFC, and possibly worth a contract for next term, or better still give him to WQest Brom then loan him in, he will definately get a game then!!

Release. Glimpses here and there aren't enough. He has had little first team chances so for me a few glimpses are ok for a young lad. if we get rid we will need to get 4 new strikers one of which will be a young lad who has been released by another club so why not just stick with him?

Keep...
I feel Tom gives the squad strength and depth, We are always going to need back up players for injuries, cards etc and I would rather have a player we know/the players know than another unknown emergency loan player!
I know we are always a bit more lenient with the younger local lads.. but I genuinely feel Tom is good for the squad, with bags of potential and a lot more to give!
My only reservation is do we need Doble and Tom.. for me that's one too many!
I would rather keep Tom than Doble Messi..

Perhaps, given that we seem to only have one striker it would be nice to keep then he can go out on loan next season as I think we need to sign 3 strikers unless Parry regains the form he had when he played centre forward at Cardiff.

Changed my mind on this last night. I thought he'd missed his opportunities and should be released but he showed he can still be a decent player and I thought he got better as the game went on (as did Wildig).
Easy to say it was an end of season game but it was contested vigorously enough and he had a decent centre back to contend with. As others have said, we passed the ball much more last night and if the pitch wasn't in such a poor state I think we'd have seen better attacking play. [That's not a dig at the groundstaff either, just the effects of a long, bad winter - need a new pitch as much as we need new players for next season].
Bradshaw desperately needs a goal. Such a shame he got an offside one. He's physically stronger this season but I think he's lost some pace and would do better to focus on that. My main criticism is that he doesn't look sharp enough. Taylor produced a perfect low cross for a finisher to anticipate at the near post but Bradshaw was on his heels and the defender cleared easily. He needs to make those runs, not wait to see where the ball's gone.
I don't get the argument that he's not worth a contract if he's not a first choice next season. I hope we'll have at least 4 strikers by August - by definition 2 of them won't start as first choices but we'll still have to sign them. If he was 27 then maybe but at 20, not expensive and still with potential, what's wrong with another deal, even if he's 3rd or 4th choice? The alternative is a young unknown - I doubt we can afford 4 proven, experienced strikers.

He's had few chances for a reason. He clearly hasn't shown enough over the course of the season to warrant a starting place. Nothing wrong with getting a young player in from another club, just look at Baxter at Oldham.
