I'm not here to gloat, we're only halfway through and that isn't what football is about. I'm here to say well done to the 1,060 Shrewsbury fans who travelled, utterly brilliant turnout. To be honest, I was in our singing bit so didn't hear you as much but when you did get going it was loud there's nothing to say it wasn't like that for the whole match.
Let's have more of the same on Monday!
As for the game, I think you count yourselves unlucky to lose. Shane Gore kept us from going 3/4-1 down in the first half but it all changed at half time. Draw was probably a fair reflection, on another day, you would have been streets ahead.
See you Monday and well done again.

Very refreshing view James, I would quite agree with you.
Funnily enough one minute from the end I turned to my mate and said really fancy our chances IF we had hold on to 1-1. Your second goal has made it really interesting for the second game.
Hope you have a safe journey on Monday

The Barnet support was fantastic in the second half, but we were very loud at times as well, the two sets of supporters drowned each other out on occasions, the noise decibels generated around Underhill would put the Premiers**t to shame, especially those Arsenal 'cardboard cut-out' supporters

Cheers James - a very fair assessment I think.
First half was as good a Town performance as I've seen in ages home or away but we simply lost it second half.
On the strength of the first 45 we should have won the game comfortably but on the strength of the second 45 you should perhaps have won comfortably as well so I guess a draw would have been a fair result.
That said, on the strength of our second half performance I can have no complaints about losing.

Have to say I was very dissapointed with Barnet, I thought you lacked real fluidity and that you didnt really attempt to take the game to us (like we did to you in the first half). Having said that you nicked a victory and it could prove to be vital.....

Just out of interest who was louder out of the two sets of fans, those of you in the seated stand will know.
Whos the loudest fans you have experienced this season?
Well done for the good turnout, hope we do the same, good luck in the second leg. You were very unlucky not to score - only for shane Gore to pop- up!
p.s. Is Luke Rodgers a London Born player or is he shrewsburyish?

Barnet fans have fecking annoying drums, and that makes them sound louder.
Shane Gore's been brilliant in both of the recent games. He's on loan isn't he?

45 minutes on the clock and I couldn't believe we were still level after seeing the best attacking display from the visitors all season.
At times your pace up front was frightening and not many Bees were surprised to see it was Maddix who gave away the pen (bit harsh though! ;-))
Gore kept us in it with the 'banksesque' save from your fella's header, and the right hand up right done it's job too!
I think Quinn messed up for you (he'll always be loved at the Hill after Jon Ford nutted him in our 9-1 massacre against Peterborough) by bringing himself on.
Yes, the second goal gives us Bees a bit of belief but not a lot.
Anyone else notice the time delay between goal going in and crowd cheering? Seemed like an age.
To repeat James, you were superb last night as a group of fans. I only we can repeat it at your place.
Be lucky.

I thought Shane was a permanent signing from the MK Dons with a contract until the end of the season?

It took us a while to realise it was in, then the place just erupted! Ended up on the floor I did!
