As the PA announcer at CTFC can someone please enlighten me how to pronounce your name? Is it Shrooosbury or Shrowsbury? I do not wish to offend your support.

Totally disagree!
It's "row" That's the way our P.A. announcer pronounces it.

I'm sure someone once said to me it all depended on which side of the river you were from?! Can't be right that though...
I say Shroosbury but then I'm an out of towner.
Maybe just stick to 'Salop' Steve, I think you're on safe ground there...

Most people that come from the town say "Shroosbury" and some don't even pronounce the first "R". Those that pronounce it "Shrozebury" tend to believe they are of a superior social standing or come from the South of England - so that's probably made you even more confused than you were already were.

Strange I thought it was pronounced more like shoes brie. But thats the problem with old English names, they sound different than they are spelt. But at matches I think it's said 2 or 3 different ways when singing, just to fit it in

But that's no excuse. Nor is it really the point. It is an excuse, and it is the point, your the one who started the subject, not the brightest spark are you really.

Steve Evans on GT: "Graham Turner's a wily and experienced manager. He treats everyone with the same respect and I'll have a nice bottle of wine for him win, lose or draw". Personally if I was GT i'd take the bottle and run to the coach, i wouldn't want to spend a single minute in that man's company, a vile Rab C Nesbitt in a suit

i quite like him... i dont see why so many people hate him.. as a manager he is doing wonders with crawley (granted they've got a decent budget) and he seems to have the upmost respect for us and i think he deserves some respect back just for that.. and for the argument abour shroo or shrow its shroosbury... Jervis is just a bit posh and likes to come across that way

The fact that every other multi-storey car park looks like a concrete mess isn't a reason why yours should, especially seeing as the rest of your town is supposedly very nice. In fact, that makes it even more unforgivable that someone should have been allowed to build that monstrosity, compared to it being constructed in somewhere like Harlow. Hope it hasn't gone over your head this time. x

Four of us going by car, as for every other game, to support the Shrooos, to a well deserved victory.

Well base on SLC Crawley who must work for the Crawley Tourist Board I cant resist the views and have booked a hotel for the night so will be expecting a great place to visit Having said that also booked return train tickets to take me to Brighton for the evening just in case Like any town Crawley has its grotty districts and flash areas - sure there's a few grim places in Shrewsbury too! (I speak as an ex-Harlescottoinan). The South Downs are wonderful. Crawley folk are fine. However, to experience the coolest City in the UK get down to Brighthelmstone. The North Laines are fantastic. Good pubs, restaurants everywhere. Trendiest Kool Kats hit the streets at the weekends... just keep your shoe laces tied... I would only leave Brighton to see the Town at Wembley, Arsenal , Gilliingham and Crawley....

Indeed, in six hours time I'll be taking the little lad for his regular wander and breakfast in the Laines. And I'll be wearing velcro.
