So who's your money on for getting a starting place alongside Marvin Morgan tomorrow................
Collins after his goal at The Emirates or Gornell after his 3 game ban ends?
Interesting decision/choice to be made - I'd opt for Gornell, not that Collins has done much wrong but for me Gornell is the guy with the football intelligent brain who reads the game so much better, but who knows.

Martin, Terry will be short of match fitness whereas Collo may still be goosed after midweek exertions. Perhaps a start for young Tom with a strong attacking bench? I do agree with your comments on Gornell though and as I've said on other threads - he will be the next big money transfer out of this football club as long as he remains in contract.

I think we should show the confinence in Collins and start him. Weve had two good performances with him in the team and one that was decent. If he isnt having the right impact we can always bring Gornell on.

Think it would be a little harsh on Collins to drop him after scoring at Arsenal, so would start with him.
Do wonder if Morgan will start the game - he had fairly lengthy treatment towards the end of the game on Tuesday and didn't seem that mobile afterwards. Hope he's fit but if not start with Collins and Gornell and expect to see Bradshaw get at least half an hour too
Would probably start with Taylor on the right of midfield too, giving Ainsworth a bit of a rest but on the bench if needed

Depends how knackered Collins is after Tuesday. Same goes for Ainsworth/Wright on wing too. Praying Goldson is ok for tomorrow too and not set to be exposed by being worn out.

Ok, Collins scored but what about the chance he missed from ainsworth's grubber?
Gornell & Collins could be the combo is Marvelous's knock is worse than feared.

For me it's got to be Gornell - his runs off the ball are well thought out and this creates space for Marv, Wright & Lionel when we attack. He also has good hold-up play, which is a major advantage as a through ball when we are under the cosh defensively - it was no coincendence that after he'd received his red acrd against Hereford we looked particularly vunerable and had no 'out' when under pressure at the back.
Collins has done extremely well during the last few games, but I think that GT will start with Terry & maybe bring on Collins or Bradshaw, depending on how the game is progressing.

If it's not broke don't fix it, as your are for me unless either SCS or Sharps are back. Would rather Tezza up front but you risk destroying any confidence Collins has now got and damaging him in the long term by dropping him so I'd expect him to start

I rate Gornell as the better player, but it's only fair to start with Collins, assuming everyone's fit.
That said, I imagine a few of our players may well be knackered, especially those like Morgan who've played practically every minute of every game.
Tomorrow is the sort of game where I wouldn't be surprised if Turner made the odd change to the starting line-up just to keep everyone fresh.

Just bare in mind in 3 out of 4 games last season Collins/Taylor/Wright/Bradshaw/Grandison had no impact against Torquay so I'm sure that's in his mind

Don't think last season's relevant. Both teams have changed significantly since then.
I think Collins deserves to start. He's in good form whilst Gornell's had a couple of weeks out and probably won't be as sharp. If Turner picks on merit it's got to be Collins but I'm sure Gornell will be involved again soon.

Keep the team the same. Same in the defence, if Sharps is fit should he start? I don't think so. Reuben and Jermaine have been impressive, would be silly to disrupt the form that they are in.

I prefer Gornell but would be very harsh to drop Collins after his performances
Also, would probably send a wrong message to Gornell that he can do a stupid thing like that challenge and then walk back into the team

Is Collins in that good form really? Personally, I didn't think he played well at all in either of the two league matches, he tried hard but his end product was lacking. I think we look a much better team with Gornell up top, however, I wouldn't object to seeing Collins up top against Torquay, see if the confidence of his Emirates goal and set him off on some sort of scoring run.

Morgan and Gornell are the best partnership upfront.

It's difficult... Gornell is the better player, but surely Collins will be full if confidence after Tuesday?
I would prefer Gornell personally, but I think it will be Collins.

For me its Collins.
Gornell got sent off against Hereford and was put out the team though suspension. Its Collins chance now and I expect to see him in the team until he either gets injured, suspended or plays an absolute stinker. Gornell should not walk back into the team, its up to him to earn his place back and then make sure he keeps it.

gornell for me collins not quite the ticket - do we really think we can be in promotion spots with him in team all season? bradders might be due a chance morgan is the number one forward he is a great improvement from last year

How good is this? Spoilt for choice with forwards, similar in midfield (would like to see Richards start again but can't break the McAllister/Wroe combination at the moment) and then the defensive conundrum when everyone's fit again. Long may we have these problems.
Then again, who expected both Sharps and SCS to be injured within minutes of each other? And Morgan's close to a suspension ....

dont change the centre back pairing they are an equal to the scs and sharps pairing.... if not more mobile and better

As most posters have said, I also prefer Morgan/Gornell, but to drop Collins would destroy any confidence that he has gained from Tuesday night. I suspect that he will start alongside Marvin, and will be told to give it everything for 60 to 70 minutes. He will then be replaced by Gornell, who should then be bursting to try to ensure he gets the shirt for the next game.

SCS is out anyway so Hazell will surely play. I'd play a fit Sharps in fornt on Goldson (the question will be is he properly fit?). As for the front two, As much as I've been quite impressed with Gornell/Morgan TG will have to win his place back. Collins is now in possession.

Agree with Liam and ExKeeper.
Gornell's the better player and a better foil for Morgan (presuming he starts), but dropping Collins after Tuesday would be very harsh on him.
I expect the Morgan / Gornell partnership to resume fairly soon, though.

There's no sentiment in football, you play the best players when fit. Gornell will be rested, fit and raring to go, so for me its a no brainer... MORGAN and GORNELL. I know its harsh, but its decisions like this that top class managers make all the time.

It is inconceivable to even think that Collins will make way for Gornell and if he does then any confidence gained will be destroyed. Gornell should be forced to work his socks off to get back in following his 'horror' tackle the other week. Competition for places should be healthy and by starting Collins this will remain the case. Gornell is a far superior player but Collins deserves his chance. Lets see how he gets on. As for the back 4 SCS and Sharps are both unfit so pointless even talking about it however, if either were fully fit then they would have to start. Sharps is the team leader and although it is becoming obvious that he is finding it more difficult in this league, the team respond with him leading them. A team without SCS in it is a weaker Shrewsbury side regardless of who we replace him with. He is the first name on the team sheet every week for me and i look forward to seeing him develop his relationship with Hazell over the coming months who for me, is an obvious replacement for Sharps next season.
