Club tpogether and buy some Roundup and a watering can - 30minutes work and job done Round-up wont touch nettles or briar's 245-T is the stuff, oh hang on that was banned after the Septic Tanks used it all up de-foresting North Vietnam in the 60s

The sensible and economical solution to that is not to permit access to it after dark. The cost of lighting and associated works for such a light use path is not going to be good value for money, unless income is generated/lost by action/inaction.

I'll leave it open until Monday night. If I've heard nothing by then, I might as well withdraw the offer and put a paid job in for Thursday afternoon.

Have you actually contacted the club to ask for permission... im not sure you need it???
If its national rail land its there permission you need?
SOme relatives I have work on the railways doing this sort of thing... will ask them what we can do about it, if its not sorted by the season starting.... they go to the games... so might be able to swing it...
We shall see

Give Jon Harris a little bit of credit, last season he sorted it out and had the pathway cleared in a fashion before the 1st league game.

Who cares about permissions, just go and do it.
In the extrememly unlikely event that someone would 'object' just mention that the nettles are dangerous and under the principle of occupiers liability they should have cut them down themselves.

Who cares about permissions Well I do. The club follow every thread on b&a. They are aware of the situation. I've got the equipment, the experience, the insurance, etc, but you can't just wander anywhere you like and start cutting things without being given the go ahead. I can't offer any more help really.

Sections 7 & 20 would suggest we (or the Club if they're interested!) should be complaining to the Highways Authority at the Council who should be getting it sorted by getting National Rail off their backsides !!
