Lets see what everyone thinks

I don't think we should, to be honest. If an opposition team did that to us we'd be outraged. It could also motivate the other team more, making them more keen to get one over on us because of the way we had treated them.

But surely a place in the final would be motivation enough, why give them an extra 1700 voice at the meadow when they could be intimidated by an extra 1700 salop voices. Anyone who thin ks we will fail to sell 7200 home tickets for this game is barking mad, cos on that premise we will take hardly any to the final. Lets give ourselves the best possible chance of reaching the finall and playing 3rd division footy next year. The financial boost to the club for next season from reaching the final could well decide our ability to seariusly challenge next season if we dont get promoted. Give them 800 and NO MORE! i say

I wouldnt like it if the boot was on the other foot to be honest, so if we give them 800 places, thats 500 seats in the Station Stand, where do the other 300 go? Could we segregate the Station End in half? Unlikely.

Come off it schizo, it would be easy to segrgate the fans in the seats, the current segregation, ie a small hip high wall is hardly going to stop it kicking off is it? All thats needed are a few stewards and police and there would be no problem at all. 800 and NO MORE !

Next door to the away seats is the family stand and they won't reduce the size of that. If any team did this to us you would be completely outraged. We'll just have to make more noise than them! Hopefully it'll all be academic cos we'll be 4-0 up from the away leg The normal away allocation is 2,000 rather than 2,500 isn't it? 1,500 on the Station End and 500 seats. That would still leave up to 6,000 Salop and we should be able to make some noise with that!

Probably ChrisH, but at the end of the day its all about gaining an advantage that can help us get promoted. Reducing the ticket allocation is one sure way of doing this, and to be honest, if i was chairman, i would be more concerned about getting to the cash windfall at the Brittania Stadium than keeping a few away fans moaning on the internet messageboards happy. 800 and NO MORE!

Because I think there is something in being good sports.
Also, what if Aldershot return our policy by giving us only 300 tickets for the away leg?
Plus, you'd not only be p**sing off away fans but also the 300 or so Salop fans you'd have to move out of their regular spaces.
I think it's a no goer and I hope we give them the usual allocation.

The idea is good KP but it would be hypocritical of me to approve it as I wouldnt like it if the situation was reversed, maybe we could do it if we played Barnet as they dont have as many fans as Aldershot but I dont think it'll happen.

Ok - But p**sing off 10,000 town fans if we dont get to the final is surely worse isnt it, what about the financial implications for next season?
An extra £100k in the coffers from the final will help us pay for another promotion push next season if we dont go up.
Having town fans behind both goals would mean a big advantage in the second leg and may well be the difference if we play Aldershot.

How about this - give them 800 seats and the away fans make more noise because they're in a stand with a roof above their heads.
Also - it'd be a great talking up point for the manager in the pre-match talk.
Sorry I just don't agree with it.

Ant - sorry to disagree mate but why is it unsporting to give the away club the required allocation as set out in the conference rules?

Why didn't we just ban away supporters full stop this season?
I full stand by my opinion on this issue and to, in general, treat others like you'd be wished to be treated yourself.

Ant - whilst can understand your sentiment, i dont understand your need to help other clubs get one over us.
Surely we should try and gain a competitive advantage over others in a fair and sportsman like way, the conference rules state that the home club has to provide 10% of capacity for away fans, usually clubs only give additional tickets away if there is a possibility that the game wouldnt sell out if those tickets were given to home fans.
This game WILL sell out to home fans, so in my book it is giving away some advantage to the away side by allowing them to have more fans than the rules state we have to have in the ground.

Is there any way around it Pilch, ie , you can attend the game but you can make it late whether its a home or away fixture i might be able to help as re: transport ?

surely for our remaining games only Hereford would come close to taking the away capacity. As we cant play them why bother reducing the away capacity?
we are gonna have 6000 home fans cheering us on so why worry about a few hundred away fans?

He has a point.
Couldnt we do what Morecambe are doing to us?
Give them 800 tickets, if they sell out Give them the away end.
If they dont put them in the stand?
Its an idea....
As for whinging about our allocation, well its a bit different if you know you're going to easily fill you alloted allocation, whilst the homeside will struggle to fill theirs.
