This is for Ronnie one of the chief stewards who is responsible for locking and unlocking the gate . The power is going to your head ! Your common sense has been lost ! Get your act together because the abuse will get worse and deservedly so , and so will the amount of pressure and complaints about you and the gate closure . Sort it out ! He is responsible for the locking and unlocking but only when told to do so so blame the right person who will no doubt hide behind 'police intelligence'

The situation regarding the west stand is getting beyond a joke.
I think all concerned appreciate that for big games or where there is the potential for trouble the gates should be closed until the away fans leave.
But to close it (without any info being given beforehand) for 141 Stevenage fans when there wasnt a whiff of trouble during the game is just winding up Salop fans who want to do nothing more than enjoy a celebratory drink after the match. Instead we are treated like criminals who should be locked behind bars.
Myself, as soon as i saw the gate was closed i walked around the ground to the Power League as previous experience had taught me it is quicker than waiting for the stewards to open it. This did see me walking through the Stevenage fans coming out of the North Stand - apparently that is what the gate being closed is trying to prevent!!
It was sometime before those held back by the gate finally got into the Power League. I was disappointed but not surprised to hear what had occurred. Head honcho Ron then appeared in the bar and was in quite a menacing way looking for a certain someone in the bar before he left and then later returned with the other stewards for a drink.
I do hope someone at the Club does get to see this because whoever is requesting the gate be closed on occasions like this is creating a lot of unnecessary hard feeling between our fans and our stewards.
Please can a bit of common sense be applied!

Haven't been to an away game in absolutely ages where as an away supporter I have been segregated at full time and not allowed to walk out of the stadium, whereever it may be, and mingle with the home supporters as I leave the premises - even Port Vale has, though heavily policed etc, allowed supporters to leave the ground and walk back to a car or coach without the need for segregation.
All a little un-necessary at best, surely common sense should prevail and the gates be used sparingly as and when required, we all know which clubs will bring supporters that may warrant their use and thus in doing so alleviate any possible flashpoint - Stevenage, I think not.

We must be the only club ever that constantly locks the home fans in
Reminds me of boro in late 80s
Kept the whole 3 sides of the ground locked in for ages whilst they let the boro fans out
Mind you they were loopy :-)
