To do with a comment towards Charlotte Jackson according to Sky news.
Ah well if he has previous then this was probably coming. Makes you wonder if this stitch up has been planned by the sky team for a while.

Massey been pulled from tonight's game at Crewe now. Feel really sorry for her, this could harm her career through no fault of her own.

So why hasn't Keys gone as well? Keys has too many (hairy) fingers in the Sky Sports Pie.

Seems a total stich up in that sky news have released unaired and practice footage from sky sports
he might have been wrong to say what he did, but this is over the top - he's been the face of their footage since they started and they've sacked him like this - nice loyalty
Christ if someone went through unaired footage of newsreaders, tv actors etc they could find all sorts

Knowing how stupid he is, he properly said it's not as bad as what I said in December.

Someone on another forum suggested Gray is suing one of the Murdoch papers! coincidence that as the owner of Sky may have got rid of poor Andy .Mr Gray is now without his job?? Shame Sky needs freshening up a bit.

Finally, I can actually listen to the commentary without constantly cringing. Can't stand him. Most biased and ignorant commentator in the entire country. Apparently Sky's bosses found out about another incident back in December to which was the final straw. Hence why he has been sacked and why Keyes has not. What a good news day. Bye Andy

Must have been the threat by some B&Aers threatening to cancel their subscription that forced Murdoch's hands. He was apparently behind Coulson resigning, so with the competition decision due, you could imagine he would have been on the phone about this one. One B&Aer though threatened to cancel if Gray was sacked. We'll have to wait and see if they go through with it.

I am sure most of us on here would mumble similar things whilst watching footy on the touchline. However in this day and age if your in his position and your caught out then i guess you have to take the rap. If only this was Jamie Redknapp instead.

"After issuing a warning yesterday, we have no hesitation in taking this action after becoming aware of new information today." www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12040_6701186,00.html Looks like that was indeed the case, he like Keyes received a warning yesterday but they found out about another incident which was the final nail in the coffin.

Andy Burton has gone now too. He was caught on camera saying he heard she was a bit of a looker. That's actually very harsh imo. It wasn't even his own opinion. He was just relaying what someone else had said. Even it was his own he said she looks nice, its a compliment, not an insult. Guess that is the other issue that led to him being sacked

I suppose I'll have to be careful. I made a couple of sexist jokes on the other thread. I have given myself a verbal warning.
If I gave myself the sack, it would be a disaster. Where am I going to get another job that pays £130.00 a week?

Seems stupid this.....
but thats the price you pay I guess.. I dont mind Gray to be honest, he clearly loves football and that comes across, he will be back ASAP on some other channel or radio station.
Wonder whos getting promoted... I notice that it was Allerdyce last night... not the worst i have ever herd and gave a few "opinians" during the commentry...
Redknapp to become the "face" at sky for football coverage soon to I would guess...

It's a good job they don't commentate on the golf when Laura Davis is getting her ball out of the hole It's almost entrapment You feel obliged to comment

So why hasn't Keys gone as well? Keys has too many (hairy) fingers in the Sky Sports Pie. Think that if Keys is staying they should have a female co-commentator along side him for the next match he does.

The fact that the remarks weren't meant for broadcast (either the December ones or the recent ones) is a bit of a red herring. In any modern, mixed workplace an employee making remarks like that would be on a disciplinary.
Maybe too, after the Andy Coulson/News of the World shenanigans and the Jeremy Hunt will he/won't he refer the BSkyB takeover to the Competition Commission, News Corp/Sky are trying to be whiter than white. Could be that Andy Gray, stupid as he is, was just caught in the headlights.
Keys will certainly be on his best behaviour from now on. Probably shaving his knuckles as I write.
They should get Karren Brady in to co-present. Or maybe Paul Peschisolido. Let's hope it's someone from the 21st century anyway.

You may prefer it that way but that doesn't make it the best way to organise things. Are all men better at "running ruling and commentating" than any woman can be? Why should equality only be imagined? And who are "they" anyway?

Catching up on today's UK news, it seems that the Gray storm is a diversionary tactic from the Tory establishment to bury the bad economic news. Negative economic growth in the last 3 months.

You mean like Johnson resigning took the eye off Blair being called back to answer his previous lies last week.
