The rest of the cricket pundits are top rate in my book. Not as good as Trueman and Brian"johno" though, eh? Not for me anyway.

Fantastic. Can't stand either of them. Now just hoping Jamie Redknapp makes a similar mistake...

Trouble is unlike the cricket where the likes of Atherton and Knight came in to replace Willis and Allott the football pundits are not that inspiring. Redknapp isn't that good and the best one they have Gullit has just taken a managers job in the back of beyond. Gut feeling is they will be back after this dressing down and soon things will be back to normal. Have listened to and watched broadcast cricket for about 70 years and for my money Knight is the worst commentator ever, when his stint comes on I now always turn the sound off (having listened to him in his early days hoping he would improve.) The rest of the cricket pundits are top rate in my book. Knight is just there to be the butt of jokes from others, isn't he? Certainly not very interesting otherwise.

Those comments (more so the way they were said) makes them look like a couple of old dinosaurs, like sommat from a bygone age, came across right bitter...grumpy old men... Wether or not they said those things in private, the fact is that the things and especially the tone of what they said was highly derogatory has to be addressed. In presenting Premier League football they not only represent Sky but also football in general. They are in a position of influence as millions of people listen to them each week. Sexism is rife in all walks of life and one way to correct this is (as with all things) for people of influence to be seen to condone it. I don't think they should be sacked, but this opportunity should be taken to make examples of them - a live studio debate, public appearances etc. I personally find it very annoying when people put things like this down to the 'PC brigade' - it is not PC to try and get rid of sexism, sexism is still a big factor in modern life. Yes you will get people who go off on one in both camps, but if nothing is done to condone them publically then it perpetuates the status quo. Yes they said it in private, but that doesn't matter - the fact is they said it and it is in the public domain and so to not do something (as I said, I don't think they should be sacked) is to condone that view of women in football.

Never quite understood the idea of suspending someone. You've done wrong, take the day off.

I quite like them to be honest but they have let themselves down badly. Came across as a couple of immature trogs. Need to grow up a bit.

Maybe, but in comparison to Boring Bob and Allott he is very good.

It's their stupidity that irritates me, all officials have to get to a high level of competence to officiate in pro football and I dare say that female officials have to be even better than their male colleagues.
So to think that a Premiership lino doesn't know the laws of the game is moronic. Also, the comment about women not knowing the offside law is as old as football itself and shows a pathetic lack of capacity for original thought.
As for Keys, I read today that his hero is George Curtis, the thuggish former Coventry centre half. My memory of Curtis is of him punching our 5' 5" winger, Mick Jones, to the ground off the ball at Gay Meadow.
Keys' hero a thug and bully, there's a surprise.

As if Keys or Gray are going to lose their job over this.

Ironic that Liverpool get a goal ruled out wrongly from a male linesman tonight.

Was this the same Curtis that broke our winger Mycock's leg ? Think the match was a boxing day fixture at Coventry, awful tackle and our player never recovered his form and promise that he had shown in his previous time with us,I think he was in the RAF at Tern Hill. (Think this was too far back for Keys on reflection but strange to have two thugs with the same name, same position same club.)

After the sacking, Gray was asked "is this the darkest period of your career?"
"No" replied Andy, "I used to play for Everton"

It will be the same Curtis as the incidents happened 2 only years apart. You'll have to get Mike Jones to correct BotS, as he states that Mycock's leg was broken by Bob Harvey. Mike describes the injury as a 'pox fracture', so he either has a problem with his medical knowledge or his spelling. (Sorry Mike!)
