Morning chaps - haven't been on here for a while, unlike Kopthis I don't act like a complete embarrassment to my football club. Re Davies - our chairman openly said if a player hands in a transfer request/ shows serious intent on leaving he wont stand in his way. Ben saw he was 29 and as he state in the interview if you have listened to them - it was his last chance to be able to play at the Championship in his peak and give it a good go, he said when he made the move to Notts he had the opportunity to sign for a championship club but for personal reasons it wasn't the right time [ presumably because his missus wanted to be back in the east midlands, which is why Derby is the perfect club for him ] - from a business point of view it made great sense as well 450-500k for a player who we paid nothing for and only been paying his wages for a year and a half give us a big chunk of profit from him. He also hasn't been our best midfielder this season - Neal Bishop has by a mile been the best midfielder in the division - I personally don't see it as such a big loss at the end of the day if you can get someone else to take corners and free kicks you won't notice his lost - with the strikers we've got they'll always score goal if you a ping a ball at them in the air - the likes of Hughes, Westcarr ect..
I see your going quite well in the league at the minute - fancy your chances to go up this year??

It is quite difficult to suggest he "left" us when actually we allowed his contract to run out making him a completely free agent.
I very, very much doubt anyone here whose employer allowed their contract to run down to zero would not have started to look elsewhere.
A decent player someone has paid decent money for to play at a decent level.
We let him walk away, shame on us.

His chance at a higher level has come quite late in his career. Good luck to him, I think he can hold his own at Championship level.
