As many of you know there is a guy that travels to every away game by bicycle this season to raise money for an Austism Charity. The man in question telephones and emails each club before every game to let them know he is coming. After stopping in a tent overnight and cycling 160 miles today he finally arrived a little late at Barnet after getting slightly lost around Half Time. Somehow during the journey he lost his money to get in and only had a £10 note, most clubs had let him in for free and have been complimentary but oh no not Barnet. They told him at half time if he didn't have £16 to get in to go away. He explained he needed to at least step foot in the ground for this to count towards his visit to every Shrewsbury away game by bicycle but they basically told him to clear off. For some reason he decided to jump over the turnstile to which the other end he was greeted very heavy handed causing several injuries by the police and charged. This to me proves Barnet FC are worst and tightest club in England after this weeks investigations and events , I know he shouldn't have jumped the turnstile and he does now but it was a heat of the moment thing of frustration of which the reaction obviously was uncalled for. At least he set foot in the ground which keeps his charity project on track to cycle to every shrewsbury away game this season. Keep up the good work mate, Barnet are a scum club which we all know now to be a fact.

Basically, they don't do charity as they are a tight club. Maybe if they were a nicer club they would get more fans through the gate.

I assume that that was the fracas going on near the seated area and the turnstiles during the early part of the second half - very heavy handed policing and stewarding with at least 4 or 5 holding the guy to the ground for what seemed like several minutes before finally 'lifting' him up and ejecting him.
I also thought there was seperate pricing for students under19 yet they still charged my 17yr old son the full adult price.

They would have charged a 5 year old full price today, seriously they would have, club policey kids only get reduction if tickets purchased before matchday.

Shamefull things I have found out about Barnet.
1. They don't like to help some charities. 2. They like rip off young kids on ticket prices. 3. They only count people in wheelchairs as disabled. If you are autistic, deaf and dumb, maybe even blind you don't need a carer. 4.They don't like people who do things for charities and like the local police to rough them up and arrest them. 5. They don't show respect for fellow professional well known players that play in the same league that unfortunately pass away.
Not good is it, what a horrible club.

our stewards can be a pain at times depending which one you speak to when i was fan of the day i couldnt hear and asked a steward if i could nip outsite to take a call and this was not a problem recently i left my coat in the power bar and realised after the kick off why i was freezing asked at half time if i could nip and get it and was told no chance the club announce over the tannoy if someone has left their lights on obviously a steward takes the trouble to go and jot down the reg and then arrange for an announcement last game there was 2 one was a new bmw, as if the battery is going to be flat after 2 hours on a new bmw so its ok for this chap to nip and turn off his lights but the powers to be decided i had to suffer exposure

Wasn't the announcement : "To the owner of the BMW in the car park, registration, RW 45, you've left your lights on, but don't worry, it won't dazzle anyone, we've found a scruffy old coat in the Powerleagues bar to cover them up".

This guy's efforts are immense - it's a shame there's not more made of it at other away games or home games as I'm sure more people would donate some cash if they were aware.

Quite, im surprized the media aren't following this story albeit local rags or regional media. Maybe an idea to bring him on board with a bit of Club protection, ergo the club allocate an away ticket for the poor bloke at each away game and try and get him promoted at each away game. Just a quick question, is it the same chap who collected at Crewe last season ?

Hang on, where does he travel from? He stayed in a tent and travelled 160 miles yesterday? That implies he doesn't cycle from Salop.
I was unaware of his actions until recently, great effort. Perhaps people could sponsor him in terms of a ticket

Saw this guy at Crewe last season and he kept us entertained with his antics in the pub after the game.
Also saw him at Morcambe this season where again he was being barred entry until quite of few of us demanded we saw the head steward and after much cajoling he was allowed in.
Hats off to the guy. What can be done to highlight his efforts?

Accomodation overnight will be provided near Worcester from what i gather. This will give you a inkling of what this guy has put himself through this season considering places like Gillingham, Torquay and Lincoln will have been done by then, you will really appreciate what hes done I think.

Remember seeing this guy arguing with a barman at a pub in Crewe last season after he parked up his bike in the pub only to be confronted by the barman to remove his bike and asked him if he had any ID or documents to prove he was collecting for charity. Good on the guy for what he is doing to raise money for the charity, seems a shame he had to jump into the ground but I think he would have known what the consquences would have been once he jumped in, seems a little petty, if a fan had walked to a game at half time at the old Meddah ten years ago, all he would have to do is offer the steward a tenner and he would have got in

The lads name is Mark Peters i just wish his efforts were more well advertised because no one realy knows the lengths this lad does in the name of charity, thought the club would have got involved in this would be great exposure for Salop and Mark, shame hes not sponsored by someone or advised by some person who would make what he is doing more well known, such a opputunity missed.

Bit harsh to call Barnet a scum club for an error of judgement.

Has he approached the club, the Star etc? Ive heard very little about it, other than Im sure I read an article (possibly in the Star) about the problems he had at the Gillingham game. However the lad is doing a very impressive thing and there should be more made of it, certainly in the local media and possibly in the nationals too. I dont know the bloke so dont know at what lengths he has gone to for self advertising. Not knocking him but he sounds like he could do with a bit of help getting himself noticed

I think I saw this man at Burton, a steward had to keep on telling him off because he kept on watching the game from the gangway area if this is the right person in a white charity top. Well done to him but he should be more careful with these incidents.

You will here a bit more about it towards the end of the season, there will be a chance to join him on the last game bike 71 mile ride to cheltenham which i'm interested in doing and includes an overnight stay at a hotel in worcester. It will be well advertised a little bit more nearer the time.
