Gerrard won't be banned.
He'll get one of his mates to serve it for him.

Interesting insights from the pro's at half time.
- Refs went into clubs at the start of the season to tell players that 'off the feet' tackles were an automatic red card.
- All players are expected to fall in the area when they feel any contact.
I don't like it, but I'm from an era when falling under a challenge was a sign that you were not a real man and batsmen walked off when they edged a ball.
Times change.

Liverpool players and fans are always the worst losers. And saying we only lost 1-0?! You still lost! We only had 10 men this, it wasn't a penalty that Errrmmmm…having only read your post and one or two other reactions (I’ve not read too many reactions from Liverpool fans other than those on Facebook from folk who follow Liverpool) I’m a tad confused as to how you come to that conclusion. Liverpool fans coming out and saying they only lost one nil with ten men is a response from supporters who appear quite happy with their teams performance, perhaps not the result but the performance. That’s the impression I have from what I have seen, they seem quite happy with the performance compared to that they have seen of late. So how is that being 'the worst' losers? Also, it wasn’t a penalty…so on that score what are you expecting them to say? Now I appreciate Liverpool aren’t the most popular club here in B&A but some of the stuff posted is just laughable…

Also, it wasn’t a penalty…so on that score what are you expecting them to say? Now I appreciate Liverpool aren’t the most popular club here in B&A but some of the stuff posted is just laughable… There is an element of people on here who are completely anti-Liverpool. It's been gone over ad nauseam and whilst some will debate others will just post drivel. Correct, after recent performances that was a step up and it looked like the hunger was back. Liverpool have been done over byt the lesser lights of the premier league (and league two) this season and whilst those teams deserve credit - Wolves and Blackpool played well - Liverpool have been lacklustre. The 'fear' of Anfield has gone and teams are not afraid to have a go. This is a good thing as it makes the games more open, it's something we have seen across the league this season with the exception of United who have continued to grind out results. Arsenal losing at home 3 times already, Chelsea getting whipped at home by Sunderland all adds to a fascinating season and indeed relegation is once agains where it is at with the vast majority of the league concerned. Getting back to Liverpool, it was only 1-0, yes United may have had another gear to go to but that has been said all season, they havent found or they havent had to find it - thats another debate. However to lose to what has widely been regarded as a wrongly awarded penalty away from home agasint a team with 1 defeat in 30 games does (bizarrely) show progress. Especially when Liverpool were down to 10 men with their captain - widely regarded as the heartbeat of the team - missing for over an hour.

Would hope liverpool fine Gerrard, because he was rightly sent off, but as you state fingers - 'Liverpool were down to 10 men with their captain - widely regarded as the heartbeat of the team - missing for over an hour. ' due to his stupidity in making an unneccesary tackle, the type of which is being clamped down upon. When he should have been leading the team, and helping new manager build on positive momentum and feel good factor, he let the team down.

Fair opinion.
Gerrard pulls thouse tackles out every now and again, after seeing Rafael win the ball against Meireles with a two footed jump which to be fair he had no right to win I think Mr Gerrard wanted to show a bit of fight. There was no intention, he was looking straight at the ball, as said previously, when done properly the tackle wins the ball and raises the crowd level due to the determination shown. When missed it looks ugly, I can see why it was a red although a yellow wouldnt have surprised me.
As stated above if Ref's had visited grounds prior to the season starting exlpaining this then Stevie G knew the potential outcome which is why he did not protest afterwards. Shame to see the United players trying to get involved.

Re. Man U players getting involved - not the first time though is it Fingers i.e. ferdinand (not the captain) being able to have a nice little chat with the linesman in the Spurs game after the nani incident whilst all spurs players including the captain were ushered away

Although this brings back bad memories of England v Brazil 2002 world cup with both ITV and BBC using this song to play out after the defeat. Now I am upset.

Indeed, it starts with a 6 pointer on weds at Blackpool.
Should be interesting Blackpool are the most exciting team i've seen play this season. Chances of a double on the cards as well.

Think Gerrard has had that coming for a while.
Not the first time that he has been guilty of such an offence, I like Liverpool and I thought Berbatov dived and conned the best Ref in the world.
I also think Gerrard deserved to go.
