Glad it passed the inspection, but were not quite over the line just yet.

I think you'll find it takes a little more time to get from Torquay to Bury than it does from Shrewsbury to Lincoln!
I'd forgotten our game at Bury is on Sky on a Friday night..if it had been on a Saturday I'd have gone but a freezing night in Bury after negotiating the Manchester rush hour doesn't appeal too much. Armchair viewer here!

The reality is that with temperatures so low even with covers the game has little chance of going ahead. The problem is that it will still be severely cold right up to kick off. So the fact is that when the covers are removed on the morning of the match the pitch will immediately start to freeze. By kick off the pitch will be like concrete. It may even be that the match is started but abandoned. Unfortunately totally correct in every way . I fear the worst !

It's been a long time since I played on a frozen pitch but if memory serves me right it cuts up very quickly. The pre match warm up they do these days can only help so the major problem has to be public safety

Forecast high of -7 at 3pm.....................still -11 at midday. I'm really hoping the game is on but we can't be that hopeful can we?

I agree. But I suspect police don't want the hassle of too many local derbies over the Xmas period.
I definitely suspect a police input into our fixture list with neither of the Port Vale games or the Hereford home game being scheduled for a Saturday.

I definitely suspect a police input into our fixture list with neither of the Port Vale games or the Hereford home game being scheduled for a Saturday. There are other games such as Macc and Stockport which are appreciably closer-no need for real local derbies. I often wonder how the League work out mid week fixtures in the middle of winter. How many times did we play Darlington, both home and away, mid week in recent years in the middle of winter? Countless.
