Christ. Good of the Met Office to forecast this after it had started.
As Broseley/Ironbridge Gorge is already in a bad way I've decided to stick it out at the office until the Christmas shoppers have gone home to maximise my chances of getting as close to home as I can before having to park up and walk.

I'm meant to be in Shrewsbuy tomorrow morning at 10am from Birmingham (I'm no where near a train station so can't use that route!) - sounds as though I'm better off not trying - is it that bad in town?

The weather on the BBC website has changed from Heavy Snow on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to being Sunny atleast 3 times today! Yep the weather forecasts are useless more than a day in advance, they were all saying it would be sunny today and yesterday whereas its been completely cloudy & foggy. Even when there's snow about they can't pin it down as to where it's going, fair enough its hard to predict but its more annoying when they confidently predict we won't get snow and then hours of snow happens.

Ant I have been in Brum and Salop today. The roads are considerably worse in Brum than they are in Salop i can assure you. So if you can get out of the city you should be OK.

This has not shown up on any forecast I've looked at today.............jokers. Last Friday on BBC news was a classic. Our 'regional weather expert', Ben Rich, called a for freezing temperatures and only a chance of a very light dusting on sat afternoon. I said to the misses, dont believe it, wait for the national forecast.. Cue Rob McElwee Called the band of snow coming from the Irish Sea and battering us all day n night....pure genius that man

The weather on the BBC website has changed from Heavy Snow on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to being Sunny atleast 3 times today! I never trust the BBC website, at least the Met office get it closer, and it is easier to check other areas ( I know other people on here have mentioned it before) www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/wm/shrewsbury_forecast_weather.html

Lost control going down Jiggers Bank last night, but only at 10 mph and it skidded left and not right. Bounced off the snow and frozen flora back into the road. Phew!

The Met Office to me seem like they change their forecast just after the Snow/Fog/Sleet has started which is useless to most! I'm getting in to this Meteorology malarkey!

Dear all,
The Met Office have issued a warning of heavy snow for Shropshire. The warning states that:

Many places will see fresh accumulations of 10cm, with up to 25cm of new snow possible in the worst affected locations. The heaviest snow is expected between about 0300 and 1200. The public are advised to take extra care and refer to the Highways Agency for further advice on traffic disruption on motorways and trunk road'

Well it has completely thawed here in Brighton - as soon as we bought the kids some sledges, so they are unused (the sledges, not my teenage babes). We are the wrong side of the South Downs for snow.
BTW - Who is this Emma-Jane?
