Halifax 2 Shrews 1. Kerrigan scores last minute. I remember that one, it was gutting especially after Rodgers had scored a stunner to make 1-1 moments earlier

Barnet away a few seasons ago - the one where there was a power cut and we had to wait outside for an hour or so, and then lost.
Northwich away in our conference season- New Years Day, cold, sleet, hangover, not up for it at all, even though we won (?). The wife spent the second half waiting for me in the car....

I go to most games with a mate or 2, we have a drink and a chat so even if the game is bad we've had a pleasant time socially.
However, when we played at Doncaster in season 1997/98 neither of my mates could go so I went solo.
Donny had a possibly the worst team ever to play in the Football League, they had a crooked chairman who was running the club into the ground so he could sell the land for development. Their team was basically made up of lads from local semi-pro and pub sides.
The week before they had lost 9 -0 at Orient and I was expecting a rare away win.
I got there just before kick off, so no pre game pint, and there were very few other Town fans there and a terrible lack of atmosphere.
Even for a Jake King team we were bad and lost 1 - 0, one of 3 victories for Donny that season.
My worst ever away day.

Brilliant, I was there that day also but i have to say i fared slightly better in that I manged a couple of pre match pints and I was in company. I remember standing on that old, crumbling open terrace looking out over the retail park behind and having an indepth discussion about the death of our town centres so good was the foothall

Boston 6 Shrewsbury 0 first time i went to a game alone, horrible journey there took 4 hours from Derby (sheep on the track) got there just for kick off. Then that awful performance, including a brilliant own goal from Van Den Blerk.

Shrewsbury 0 Colchester 3. F.A. Cup. We were in the old Division 2, Colchester were bottom of League 4. Tony Kelly was playing for them and took us apart.
Shrewsbury 2 Northampton 3. End of our play off hopes and end of John Bond. 2 0 up and then came Robbie Turner's one man horror show.

i enjoyed the big cup shocks in a funny sort of way
the wembley games are some of which i want to erase from my memory no feeling like the one when gills went 1-0 up, instant devastation
i was also gutted when wolves beat us in the 79 replay
oh and i remember norwich beating us 3-0 at home i fell over at half time walking past the dug out and it seemed the whole ground cheered
can i forget that one too

Notts county away- just before GP took over! It was not a good experience to be standing on Nottingham Station platform waiting for the train back home, being "entertained" by Nott's County fans chanting "3-0,3-0,3-0,3-0!"

To be fair he played a blinder the week before as a make shift centre back, but had a mare against Northampton. Tragically he was at it again a week later away at Cardiff, a match we had to win to get into play offs. Trouble was they needed to win to go up as champions. Went down on the train, not the smartest move but it wasnt as hairy as getting back to the station after the match. All i can say is ive never mean more relieved to be on the losing side, wouldn't of made it back in one piece if we'd won! Turner had another shocker and we lost 2-1, could and should of beaten them tho. Brighton Away in/around 2000 was worst town performance tho. Absolutley p**sed it down for 90 mins on open terrace in makeshift temp stand and watched a 10 man town team get spanked 4-0. Some great banter between town and Brighton fans, who were literally right next to us, which sticks in my mind as much as the result, very un p.c but very funny im afraid to say.

Got that the wrong way round mate- Northampton was the last match of the season which we had to win to make the play -offs. The Cardiff game was the week before and they won promotion by beating us.

Accrington at home last year.
It was ****ing freezing, I couldn't feel my hands or feet and to top it off I had to endure some of the most boring football I have ever seen.

Bury away 2007..we were on a terrible run and were 1-0 down at the break. We were rotten the whole 80 minutes I was there, had to leave 10 minutes early to get the train back to Glasgow, then on the tram back into Manchester I got a text saying Kelvin Langmaed had equalised not long before the end. A right facepalm moment

may sound a little trite but none of them, seen some heavy losses over theyears but they make the good ones worthwhile. I agree with you entirely. Despite feeling down immediately after the game I never regret having been there.

Grimsby away last season. The cannon-fodder of League 2, who hadn't won in 20 something games, until we turn up and get outplayed losing 3 nil. Simpson playing Murray at right back against Devitt was NOT a good move! The half-time pint of John Smith's was easily the worst pint ive ever had...took an age to trickle from the tap and then was warm just to boot...ace!
Gillingham, the Wembley playoff final as was absolutely gutted...still niggles now!

Away to Boston a few years ago now. I think we lost either 6-0 or 6-1. I had a very heavy hang over too so it was a real bad day....

As for home games, there have been a few where I wouldnt have gone if I didnt have a season ticket, plenty last season but without doubt the Darlo game. I sponsored the sodding thing. At the end, in the lounge I was up for refusing to nominate anyone, but my Niece was more sensible and asked a passing member of staff who he thought. So Kelvin Langmead was motm on someone who I won't name, say so. Mind you, apart from the alleged football match, we had a great day. I went to most of those above by the way.

a shockingly bad game and seriously wet!! Fatty Redmile was sent off too to compound the misery.
Other shockers I've been to include both Dagenham 5-0's, a 5-1 spanking at Rushden the week before we beat Everton, as well as a 5-0 away at Cambridge in 2002/2003. I was also at Donny in the late 90's under King when we lost 1-0 - terrible, terrible game - defo my worst as I'd taken 2 mates from uni in Sheffield where I was at the time to their first (and to date only!!) town games!!

Being only a modern era Town follower, I'd have to say the 3-0 at Macclesfield a couple of seasons ago. It was still 2-0 when we left - the only game I've ever left early.
I've had my share of horrors watching others though. The worst would have to be a 3-2 defeat to Bradford on a foul January afternoon; the first and last game my sister came to. Sounds a potential thriller but my team was Widnes and the game was rugby league, or what passed for it in the mud of Wilderspool (even Gay Meadow couldn't do mud like Wilderspool could).

On the plus side I had a tenner on Darlo to win so I was quite happy when the late second goal went in. Always remember being in the Brooklands afterwards and someone outside was listening to Simpsons interview on a radio. When he said the 'D' word about the fans, people were furious and you knew it was the end for him

From previous seasons. Play off final final 2009 and Notts County a few years ago when we lost 3-0. And all the games Telford have beaten us in.

Daggers 5-0 Salop, last season. They could have had 8 alone in the first half. Cold Tuesday evening and the fans were sniping at the players from the start.
