Interesting but isnt running up Haughmond part of the pre-season training schedule? Maybe wrong but IMO far to rigorous for mid game prep I think it yes - but i guess it depends how long this particular run was, as there ar elonger and shorter routes. Also even if it is wrong no player should be able to dictate to the manager what should and shouln't be carried out. GT has been in the game far longer than Ainsworth, but this may all be hearsay.

Interesting but isnt running up Haughmond part of the pre-season training schedule? Maybe wrong but IMO far to rigorous for mid game prep I thought it was a thursday session for the team? Not rigorous unless you make it so. Theres plenty of routes, long/short hills, flat or undulating, you can play around with recovery times too. Training doesnt have to be 100% effort all the time, regardless of the sport.

Saw Ainsworth, Ben Smith and Mark Wright in C21 about a month or so ago on a Saturday night.
Ainsworth was standing OK then, hope he sorts himself out.

.. is that Ainsworth isn't injured and hasn't been for sometime. He had a massive row with Turner after refusing to take part in a run up Haughmond Hill, 1 month to rectify the situation or he is being moved on in January. Al, I posted something after the last game, but the rumour I heard was that it was quite a serious issue and nothing to do with an injury. It's only rumours and of course we have to be careful but the source was quite close to certain people at the club.. "hic"

Chris Bright has left club Is there any chance you can make that a bit more interesting - left after being caught in bed with the physio's wife? Refused to come down from Haughmond Hill? Anything will do....

Funnily enough I went for an early stroll and I vividly recall seeing Kris Bright running wild with a herd of deer, first time I'd seen him move over 5mph.

Every-time I've been down the Club this season for tickets etc it's always been a Thursday morning and they've been training on the pitch at the back of the Salop Leisure Stand (other caravan outlets are available). Unless they do two sessions on a Thursday and they go up there during the afternoon.

Lionel certainly can change a game on his day, and his speed and guile when on song is needed in a promotion seeling team...I will be disappointed if the rumour is accurate but never the less no one is indispensable and we need to bring in some game winning players in for January to compliment the hard working and determined lads we already have. If that means others in LA out so be it! The shame is being part of a promotion squad would look a lot better on Lionels CV than yet another club he could not settle at!

Well I heard that Ainsworth allegedly tried to crack on to Turner's missus, and then left a huge floater in Mr Wycherly's private bog.

The TWOTS threads have a good record but I am more than a little confused by this one: Why fabricate the injury in the first place? If there has been a falling out why not just drop Ainsworth.......most people would sympathise with GT if he did that and if GT is suddenly thinking Ainsworth is not for us, then surely he would be playing him in at least the reserve team so that he has more chance of finding a willing buyer in January................................. It just doesnt add up

Well, I have my ear fairly close to the ground Every Friday night when leaving The Barrels After a long discussion with some of STFC supporters elite last night, it appears the first players to incur the wrath of the manager by refusing to run up Haughmond Hill was Ken Mulhearn - and several players since have done the same - IF true Lionel is in elite company (I Say "IF" as I have no faith whatsoever in the source of this rumour, seeing as he lied to the PE teacher at the Wakeman by telling him I had taken a short cut in a cross country race in 1975 - I NEVER FORGET :

It just doesnt add up I think you should probably consider taking your rose-tinted local lad glasses off, Pauly. The conversion rate for TWOTS threads has been somewhat lacking for a considerable length of time. I have lost all confidence in this method of rumour mongering tbh
