Put it in context – Qatar’s entire population is 600,000 the same size as Bristol
How on earth are they going to house thousands of fans from 32 countries, and have the minimum of at least 8 stadiums?? Bristol as it is as only got 1
And how on earth are footballers going to cope with those temperatures!
Does Qatar even have a national football team?? If so where are they ranked??
Absolutely laughable. Australia i could have understood.

In Summary, its two more world cups we wont be winning... does it really matter where they are played...
Hopefully the big wigs will stop spunking the FAs moneys at failed World Cup bids (we will never win one in the current give it to the little guys climate) and use it to a least produce a team capable of actually doing well in one.... where ever it is!

Plus...and its a real big plus too...Qatar is well located for most folk around the world to watch the games (taking in the time differences). So more people will be able to watch which means sponsors will pay more which will make money for FIFA. I think that had a big part to play in it too...
Can you get a beer in Qatar?

If we destroy all our stadiums and then promise to rebuild 14 new fabulous ones by the time a world cup comes around, would we have a chance? It seems having everything in place, and creating this sport, counts for nothing. Don't agree with Qatar either, developing maybe, but play football at high levels with massive crowds following it each week? Nope. Population tiny, no massive interest like other bidders. Not that this was a suprise, still annoying.

I believe Russia had an outright majority after round 2 of voting. World cup 2026, stick a pin in a map.

Two votes? What a fecking joke. Why on earth did you expect more? They hate us as we are arrogant in their eyes and the reaction on radio and tv is not going to change that view.

That was £493 million well spent by the FA and the government. With Blatter's avowed intention to spread the World Cup to new areas, it was clear that we were never in with a shout.
As regards the 2 votes, I assume delegates watching the events at St Andrews last night might very well have been swayed, never mind the BBC allegations.
Obviously, the British Disease is still alive and unwell.

They hate us as we are arrogant in their eyes and the reaction on radio and tv is not going to change that view. i think they are right about the arrogance of the english when it comes to football. our football association is called THE football association, everyone else mentions whose it is. we do all this "we gave the world the game" nonsense, when we just formulated the rules. people had been kicking a ball around for centuries, all over the world. from the outside woorld, it looks like we feel we deserve to win when we dont and i think that doesnt help. BUT our arrogance should not have an impact on the bidding process. a bid is a bid. and lets be honest, we all know the organisation is rotten to the core, we all suspected the brown envelope approach would win out and it looks to be the case from where i am standing.

The voting details coming out are a little odd.
Netherlands bid got 4 votes in the first round, but then in round 2 they only got 2 votes, with 2 voters switching from Netherlands to Russia - that's surely a little odd?

Doesn't seem much point wasting time and money on any future bids while there are new territories wanting to host it. TV and sponsorship is all that counts. Everything else is window dressing. More fool us for thinking it might be otherwise. At least now we can all stop grovelling to Blatter, Warner and all the other corrupt and self-important fools at FIFA.

Hold on everyone all is not lost. I have it on good authority that when spelling a word beginning with the letter "Q" the next letter must be the vowel "u". Without doubt Qatar does not have the vowel "u" in it thus we cannot recognize it as a word let alone a country. I hereby declare Qatar not to exist. Thus if the country doesn't exist we step in as the saviours, to cement the bid we should also be looking to give away stadiums starting with MK Dons
