Who cares,we'd only have gone out early after plenty of hype anyway. I bet the BBC get slaughtered in the press tomorrow. Its got nothing at all to do with the BBC - It just shows how rotten FIFA is Correct.

They'll be no such stories in the Russia press will there? I wonder if that swung it?!?! Russia and FIFA, fine bedfellows? I wonder how much each they'll be getting for that? I'm suprised at this. Yes, they haven't held owt like that before. Fair enough. But as I've already said. Corruption, racism, hooliganism...thats what comes to mind when I think of Russian football. I'd have gone to all the potential hosts; England, Low Countries, Spain Portugal...all the hosts bar one. And that'd be Russia.

Russia was the only bid that could have defeated us. FIFA want a legacy and they will get that in Russia. Nothing to do with MONEY.

Portugal had the euros why should they have the world cup before us when we haven't had it since 66! Russia is a corrupt mental country with bad racist elements. I thought England would be the logical safest option, plus they already rejected us for the 2006 world cup bid. How many times will they reject our bid!
The only time the corrupt FIFA will give it us is when were competing against Iraq and Afghanistan.

Qatar is a brilliant choice, looking at the announcements both decisions are great for WORLD football. We've held a world cup before whereas Russia and Qatar haven't.
Travelling to places such as these will be great for many people.

Qatar with all stadiums within 60km, 2 billion people live within 4hrs travel of Qatar - pretty compelling.
It s a developing country and as such understandable.

Like they have a great pedigree in international football, these corrupt F***ers knew exactly who would get the tournaments so why allow countried like Australia, England, Spain/Portugal/ USA Korea etc. spend tens of millions of pounds. Good old Brazil get the next one and we have to wait potentially another 16 years to get another opportunity.. I'll be 65 then Will the average fan be able to afford Qatar? having worked in the middle east I doubt it, therefore it'll be free tickets for the locals, and thousands of pounds to get and watch the games for us. Okay it's a world tournament but a population of around a million, (about the same as Bristol!!!!) they have never played in the World Cup coz they arent good enough to qualify.. IMO it's a disgrace. Football for the masses eh? rubbish

Australia would have been a great place to host the World Cup - thought they would get it and was already thinking of going out there on a retirement fling. Don't think I will bother with Qatar.

[/quote] Russia no problem, they knew theyd get it and so did the rest of the world. it was leaked before the decision was broadcast.. Yes there are certainly masses in Russia and for the Europeans it is relatively easy to get to . Very expensive (even more so now) but for the masses yes... Qatar on the other hand
