It's kicking off at the meadow and the scum have ripped the seating nets and flag up. They can have that I dont care, what I am bothered about though is why there were more Police against southend than there are tonight. And the few Police we do have in the ground are standing between the away stand and the east stand watching the understaffed stewards deal with a bunch of mindless knuckle draggers. Shambles!

Coppers probably charge more for an evening game. Regardless of it being Clippy, that's still going too far. Shame there's nothing worth nicking at Edgar Street in reply!

'the seating nets AND flag' This sounds worse than West Ham v Millwall last season. I'll just go and check Sky News to see if there's any more updates...

Regardless of how moronic the Hereford fans are mr blue coat the town steward at the south stand is a discrase.. At half time he came to the west stand and got loads of abuse(fair enough he's a s**t head steward) then after ht the police came in and he grabbed one and stared pointing home fans out who had shouted at him to be thrown out... I think b and a's jamo was one!!
The guy needs to wise up!!

He was not pointing them out he was pointing out people in blocks 17 and 18 who had confronted him at half time... He's a big man dealing with angry town fans but doing NOTHING to stop Hereford fans nonsence inbthe first half!!

ah
although there are a few people in block 18 who could do with being pointed out - one in particular who is regularly swearing loudly at all and sundry including our players and other people around him

I think that going to someone's stadium and ripping up their flag and generally trying to trash things is pretty provocative.
The away game is going to be nastier now.
What is strange, is that as it was a giant Clippy more than a few Salop fans will secretly be quite pleased.

Not saddened to see the clippy flag torn up,don't like being reminded of our Wembley appearances anyway never been our greatest hours.
More seriously our stewarding,if thats what you can call it, is an absolute disgrace, couldn't look after a kids Birthday Party never mind what they are paid to do at The Meadow.
Total embarrassment, letter to the Chairman from me first post tomorrow,shambles........

To be fair I thought the understaffed stewards did a half decent job considering the coppers did absolutely nothing until the second half. They were an absolute disgrace. agreed, the supporters didnt get near enough to throw a punch so job done. nice of the police to let the stewards deal with it, after all stewards get so much more training and pay than policemen.

I understand that Plod wont get involved until Mr Blue Coat steward invites them in. Once he does that the Club get a big bill which they try to avoid, hence they are called in too late. As stated above not enough stewards either..........WHY? ? Shambles............

Where were the coppers in the first half? Serious question, is there a reason that they were nowhere to be seen in the half, then the second half they arrived?

Didn't Wigan refuse to pay their bill a few seasons ago because it was not far short of what teams like United and City were getting charged?

I think it's unfair to have a go at the stewards when they were clearly understaffed and had a lot to deal with, especially the 2 who went up to try and save the flag and were out numbered. They did well handling the situation.
The police arrived way to late and even then they took a while to actually do there jobs.

And they stopped serving beer at half time as well which to be honest just wound most people up more...
Why they didn't step up the stewarding/police presence up more in the first half bemused me. Surely regardless of what was going on there were Hereford idiots causing criminal damage (flags etc) which surely should have been enough for the police to march in.
Maybe if it's as I beleive that if the stewards call the police to steam in then we have to pay more, them maybe the town should again stop thinking about the commercial element and think about the overall matchday experience when it was really quite unpleasant at one point.
Also if they are so worried about the health & safety of all concerned then maybe they should think about the crush under the stand for the toilets and buffet.
I wonder if Roland has ever experienced a game having to put up with all that. He often speaks about how he 'grew up on the terraces the Gay Meadow' perhaps he needs to experience it now before he rests on his laurels about how he brought us a new stadium and it's all sweetness and light for us mere mortals.

There was tear gas being let off in the away stand as well. Well, there were certainly plenty of tears, and if that's the best the worzels can offer, there will be a hell of lot more come May.

I have had the priveledge of being invited into the sovereign club a few times this season the the difference in matchday experience is night and day. It is lovely over there. I would genuinely like an STFC decision maker to stand with me in the queue in the West Stand at 3.50pm for a pint and some crisps and then we would maybe see some improvements. Vending machines for bottles of beer or even a little counter with bottles seem a no brainer to me. The stadium is a vast improvement, but 3,000 people in the West Stand sharing one buffet is utterly ridiculous, it has been since the beginning, and I am yet to see much improvement. The fact Jenny's provides nice food we actually want to eat actually makes things worse!

i think the fact is stfc dont pay for the policing unless they are employed, and once they are stfc have to pay for the whole days policing which is not cheap whoever made the decision, maybe at half time to bring in the police it was probably the right decision though why cant we just employ the police dog the appearance of the furry friend seemed to end all plans of hereford fans visiting block 19 speaking of which, when the goal went in and the away fans charged toward block 19, would it not have been a good idea for someone to quickly pull out the spare goal posts and catch them like a fly in a spiders web
