I am sure there there will certain people on here very soon moaning about the Royals As long as (A) They get married in the cricket season and (B) The Jelly Bean makes them Duke and Dutchess of somewhere down south as a wedding present I dont have a problem with it

How many people really care?
Guess it will mean pages of royal tittle tattle in the papers for the next n months. Time to cancel my daily paper.

How many people really care? I don't, as long as it doesn't get in the way of Emmerdale Farm

I've been thinking all afternoon how I can start celebrating the happy day. I thought about wearing union jack hats and having ribbons festooned on the van, but came up with this brilliant novel idea. From 1700hrs tonight, I'm going to have bugger all to do with it, by turning off the tele whenever it's mentioned and completely ignore the whole event.

Katherine hearty congratulations. It's Catherine. Already annoyed by the "ordinary middle-class girl" stuff. I don't know many middle class girls who parents are millionaires and who went to the rather exclusive Marlborough College. Still good luck to them especially her, she's doing to need it.

In fairness, she was born into an average middle class family who happened to start a successful business when she was was young.

So the rest of us peasants are supposed to throw our sweaty caps up in the air and shout 3 hurrahs for the happy couple going through an extravagent wedding ceremony at our expense?
Like others on here, I'm going to have to cancel the papers. The drip drip has already started on tv with other programmes being cancelled.
And for those of you that read the real rags..well good luck to you! Royal Wedding, X Factor, Take That and errant footballers are your staple diet for the forseeable future.

If it's in the summer then Elton might have to cancel his Meadow gig to entertain the happy couple!

Don't think the wedding's going to come from the public purse is it? Doesn't the Prince of Wales and his offspring have a Duchy that they use for their upkeep?

I am pleased for them. They seem happy enough.
I thought the bloke on the One Show was quite funny when he said "I thought she sounded posh. By the way the media were going on about her I though she worked at Greggs"

Thank God not everyone is lining up to doff their cap and tug their forelock. What planet / country are these berks who keep appearing on the news saying how it's going to 'give us all a lift' living on? I'm sure people joining the dole queue, losing their homes or struggling to afford food and fuel are going to be rejoicing at the saturation coverage of the upper classes flaunting their inherited wealth.

Am pleased for them, William's contribution to charity work, the FA etc... has been very valuable for a person in his position and has, imo, modernised the monarchy in many ways.
Also expected to bring in over £500MM for the economy.

Read something in the Torygraph about her fathers family background, blows the "ordinary middle-class girl" guff out of the water.
I hope that the real talking point of next year, the referendum on AV system, doesn't get drowned under all the BS about this wedding.
I also wonder if the reported boost to the economy will last past the honeymoon.

I also wonder if the reported boost to the economy will last past the honeymoon. But that said, it's something that'll probably make the country more money than it'll cost which can only be a good thing. And although i'm not too fussed either way I am lucky enough to remember the 'Silver Jubilee' and 'Charles and Di's' wedding and remember them as two good memorable social events. I certainly don't remember anyone saying anything negative about them and most people I know seem to remember them as good 'fun' days. I was 10 for the 'Silver Jubilee' and remember getting a little bit p**sed in my streets 'Party 7' tent ! Great times !
