Thanks for the greeting!
I'm making the trip down with 3 others. Is the varsity close to the ground? and will it be showing the Bolton Spurs match before the game (Spurs fan too!)

Greetings Saintradder and welcome to the lovely board of Shrewsbury Town. Personally I can't wait to go tomorrow but was wondering, what style of football do you guys play. Keep it on the ground, hoof or a mixture? Also I remember Jason Puncheon and Lambert play for your club? How do you rate them and who else should we look out for?

Keep it on the ground, hoof or a mixture? Also I remember Jason Puncheon and Lambert play for your club? How do you rate them and who else should we look out for? Well, under Pardew, we were doing a lot of long balls but now that has all changed. We are now a passing team with a lot of off the ball movement which seems to be working now the players are starting to get used to it. There are a few players to look out for, Puncheon is getting better, Of course Lambert but, Adam Llalana and Alex Chamberlin on the wings are something else!! Fast and skillful, not only that, they constantly change sides just to annoy the opposition defenders I think!!! Jose Fonte, (Portuguese International), Morgan Schneiderlin (French Under 21 International) Lee Barnard and a couple more! All to watch

Dont want to go down this road really, just a few digs at Saints that are not actually factually correct, is on your Web site so read it. Far enough after what was put on ours that by the way, a lot of us were not very happy about.

Agree, also find the official site a pain in the arse to navigate around, doesnt help with the huge amount of old info, broken links and that several links seemingly direct to the same page anyway. Can only presume its the pre-match analysis bit? www.shrewsburytown.com/page/PreMatchAnalysis/0,,10443,00.html edit to say: to saintradders, this isnt written by the club btw its written by a fan.

Just wondering really, I dont go on our website too much as find it difficult to navigate through it so was just curious as to what was said, rather than disputing anything. Football on the south coast seems to have declined somewhat, and Southampton are a great example. A team that many youngsters will remember as being a fixture in the highest division, reduced to first round qualification for the F.A. Cup that they held in 1975. It just goes to show how topsy turvy football is these days. Despite their lowly league standings, many still think that Southampton are a big club, and I wouldn't disagree. They still have a big stadium that although spends most of its time half empty , is more than capable of holding a capacity crowd in the top flight. Last year's F.A. Cup campaign was moderately successful given that Southampton are a third rank football club, with a trip to the third round and a money-spinning 4-1 home defeat to close rivals Portsmouth. As for the league, the Saints are sat comfortably in the play-off zone just 2 points away from the automatic promotion spots. Their home form has been pretty good with only 2 defeats at St Mary's, including a 1-0 opening day defeat to Plymouth. If you factor in their results in the cups, things look a little grimmer as they have suffered home defeat in both competitions, but were unlucky to come up against higher league opposition in the League cup. There are a few facts wrong in it, we won the cup in 76, our average crowd is 21,000 which if the stadium was half full would be under 16,000 "Southampton have not won a Cup game this season". Errrrr, apart from the League cup first round game when we beat Bournemouth. And a few other things, And is written by a fan of our biggest rivals! But, not on here to say my club is bigger than your club s**t!!! Lets get back to football....... ;D

I think an entertaining draw is on the cards tomorrow, can't really see anything else. I also believe it will be another tight affair at GM in the replay, maybe even go all the way to the dreaded spot kicks. Anyhow thats my prediction.

As Ive said in my little piece for your forum, you are not to be underestimated by a long shot, but, with Home advantage, my prediction is Saints should secure a 3-1 home win.

I beat Southampton on FIFA 11 this morning, but it was in the JPT.
For those that want to know, the score was 3-2, (Bradshaw, 2 Harrold).

expecting the saints to beat us comfortably tomorrow by 2 or 3. Anything else would be great. They've got some excellent attacking players & we've been garbage in cup competitions for since we came back into the league.

We might surprise them with the quality of our football and come away with a draw. Hope its a cracking game for our fans who make the long, long trip. Adam Llalana is a name that a mate at work raves about, i think after seeing him in clips from Sky Sports. Believe he's English? but strange name. With the players you have got it looks likely you are heading for higher things. Concentrate on the league, leave the Cup glory to us.

His grandfather is Spanish, but Adam is very much English, been at Saints since he was 12 years old and is an England Under 21 international.
